Bella In Sleepy Hollow

I was in the meadow Edward and I called ours. Thinking what I did wrong and why he had to leave me. I miss everything about them. Carlisle my second father, Esme my second mother, Jasper my brother even though he and I didn't talk much, Rosalie even though she hated me I still thought her as my sister, Emmet my big lovable brother, Alice my best friend and sister. My heart clenches when I think of them, by yet their all I think about. The sound of my phone going off pulled me from my thoughts, I picked it up and answered, it was my dad. "Hi Charlie" I said. "Bella could you come home please" he asked. He sounded sad. "Yea dad I'm on my way" I said. I hung up and looked around sadly remembering him. I stood up and drove to my house. I walked in and sat down. "Dad something wrong" I asked. "Bells you remember my friend Augustus Corbin" he asked me. I thought for a moment then remembered. "Yea I do You were in the police academy together right" I said. He nodded "Corbin was murdered a few days ago his funeral is in two days" he said. Now I really felt sad "Charlie I'm sorry Corbin was a good man" I said. He nodded "bells would you come with me to his funeral" he asked. Not even thinking about Edward i answered. "Of course I will. I liked Corbin he and Abbie are good friends of mine to" I said. He nodded "ok thanks bells" he said.

I nodded and went up to my room. I sat down at my desk and pulled out my scrapbook from living with mom. I opened it and saw pictures from living in Sleepy Hollow. Reene moved there after leave Charlie. She new Corbin from Charlie and he helped us out a couple of times. He'd watch me when she would have to work. I remember when he' d take me to the diner in town and we'd get pie with ice cream on top. He'd get apple and I'd get either cherry or strawberry. We also knew his partner Abigail Mills before Corbin did. She new her mom. Abbie and her twins sister Jenny were 13 and I was around 10. They'd walk me home from school. And watch me while our moms worked. But after their mom died the were separated into foster homes. But I'll never forget the last time I saw Jenny and Abbie at the same time. We were on our way home from school, and walked through the Forrest nearby. It was then we saw a demon and four white trees. When we called the police only Jenny told what really happened. I didn't at anythig while Abbie seemed what Jenny said. I always felt terrible after watching jenny scream and beg us to tell them what we saw. I regret it everyday.

After Renee moved to Phoenix and we never went back. But when I was 14 Charlie took me their over the summer. I saw Abbie again and she had gotten into the bad crowd was drinking and smoking pot. Finally Corbin took her under his wing and helped her out. I was still in contact with Abbie before i met HIM. I know Abbie became a Lieutenant on the police department and almost got into the FBI. Corbin's death must have prevented that. I sighed closing the scrapbook and laid down hopefully able to not have a night mare tonight.

The next few days I spent packing my bags to go with charlie. I looked around my room and looked at my picture I had of Edward that was taken on my birthday. I picked it up and put it in my pocket. Then turned and walked downstairs. I walked outside and got in charlies truck and left. The drive to the airport was short. As was the wait for the flight. On the plane ride to Sleepy Hollow I fell asleep. And I was able to be nightmare free. Charlie shook me awake when we were landing. Charlie had a rent car waiting for us so we drove straight to our motel. When we pulled up we saw a cop in front of a door guarding it. We both got out and walked over "something wrong over here sir" charlie asked. "No sir just watching on a suspect" the officer answered. The door burst open and a man shot out. "I must see Lieutenant Mills" he demanded in a British accent. "She's on her way get back in there" the officer said. "Actually Gary I got this" Abbie said walking up. The British guy huffed "yes gary" he said.

The officer walked to his car and left while Abbie turned to charlie and I. "Charlie swan that cant be you is it" Abbie said. Charlie grinned "as I live and breath Abbie" he said. She grinned and hugged dad then saw me. "Oh my god that's not you is it Bella" she said. "It sure is Abbie" I said. "I haven't seen you in five years girl damn your not that little ten year old following me around anymore" she teased. I gave her a fake smile "your no longer the 16 year old girl causing the police trouble either" I said. She chuckled "nope that I'm not" she said. The British guy cleared his throat "miss mills an introduction please" he said. Abbie snorted "charlie, Bella his here is Ichabod crane my new partner he's a professor helping us with certain cases" she said. "And Crane this is Charlie Swan a close friend of Corbin's and mine. And this is his daughter Bella who I've known sense she was five years old" she said. Ichabod turned to us "a pleasure to meet you both" he aid shaking charlies hand and then mine.

It wasn't till then I got a good look at him. He had brown hair like mine and bright blue eyes that seemed to shine from the sun hitting them. He was smiling a us "actually abbie I've got some thing to do before going to Corbin's funeral. Would it be alright if Bella tagged along with you guys" charlie asked. "Charlie I don't need babysitters" I said. He turned his head and gave me a look. I looked away from it "ya sure" Abbie said. "Good go-ahead Bells have fun with Abbie" he said. My eyes narrowed at him, he didn't have stuff to do he just wanted me out on the motel for the day. I followed Abbie to her car and got in back. We stopped at a Starbucks and got coffee and donuts. Abbie and I stood away from Ichabod. "So Bella last I heard you had yourself a boyfriend" Abbie teased.

I looked down at my coffee and picked at it biting my lip. "Yea I was" I said. "Was what happened do I have to shoot someone" she asked. My lips twitched a little at thinking of Abbie shooting HIM. I pulled a peace of hair behind my ear and shrugged "I did meet and ate a guy for awhile but we're not together anymore" I said. "Did something happen" she asked. I flinched a little "he left after my birthday" I said. "The hell kinda guy does that leaves and brakes up with a girl right after her birthday" she snapped. I flinched again, Abbie's eyes then looked me up and down. She we her coffee down "Bella what did he do cause it wasn't just leave. You look like a walking zombie" she said. I felt the burn of tears building up and tried to blink them away but failed cause she noticed. "Bella what happened with this guy"she asked. "Before he left, he told me that I was nothing but a toy to him and his family" I said.

I knew she was now itching for her gun. "That is the messed up thing to ever do. Wait a second I remember Corbin getting a call about you. Your dad was terrified cause he couldn't find you, did he hurt you physically Bella" Abbie demanded. "He didn't hurt me physically, he lead me out towards the woods by our house and left me there. I tried to run after him but you know know I'm clumsy, I ended up tripping over a tree root. I nearly died of hypothermia if not for Sam who found me" I told her. "Bella why didn't you come or tell me. Your like a sister to me I would have helped you" she said hugging me. "Cause I've been nothing but Burden to charlie. He almost sent me back to Renee cause I'm getting to much for him" I said. "Your family to me Bella and you will never be a burden" she said. I wiped my face off and stood "we should go have a funeral tk get to" I said. She nodded and we left going to Corbin's funeral. During the funeral Abbie stood with her police members while I sat next to charlie. Ichabod stood at the top of the cemetery watching.

When it was over charlie asked me to go with Abbie and Ichabod again. I followed her up to him where he was kneeling infront of a gravestone. "Miss mills their is a witch coming" Ichabod said not seeing me. Abbie's eyes went wide and looked at me "what a witch Abbie" I said. Ichabod looked at me and then at Abbie. Abbie sighed "Bella there's something I've got to tell you about Ichabod and a whole lot of things" she said. She and Ichabod took me to underground caves and sat me down telling me what was going on.
