Bloody Mary's Beginning

The sun was just about ready to set. Amy and I stood in front of the old house on Brickhem road.

"Do you think the myths are true Mary?" Amy asked quietly.

"About the ghosts? Nah. Ghosts aren't real." I scoffed.

"But it's said that whoever goes in, never comes out! Remember Lucas? That kid that lives down the street that went missing?" she continued.

"He didn't go in there Amy. No one does. Anyway, it's Halloween let's go in." I grinned.

"B-but you just said no one goes in!" she stammered.

"I know what I said. Let's go." We started up the steps, my starch white dress billowed around me like a flag in the wind. The old Mahogany doors creaked open and pitch black darkness greeted us.

"Well I don't see any light switches, so lets leave." Amy murmured. I rolled my eyes and yanked her inside. Our eyes adjusted to the dark and the door suddenly slammed behind us. Amy ran back over and yanked on the door handle.

"Mary it won't budge! I can't open the door!" she screeched.

"Can't open the door. Can't open the door." Voices were whispering. Amy screamed and started hyperventilating.

"Amy chill out!" I yelled over her screaming. She went to the door again and nothing happened.

"Okay Amy. Lets try to go find another door." I said worriedly. We went around the house and tried every door we could find. We were trapped. That realization hit me like a ton of bricks. We walked around for a while and I thought I felt someone watching me. I heard footsteps behind me and I whipped around. Amy looked back at me and raised her eyebrows.

"What is it? What's wrong?" Amy asked becoming hysterical.

"Nothing." I reassured. I wasn't going to add more things to worry about. She was already freaking out enough. We passed by a room that looked like the living room. Amy tapped my arm and pointed to a rocking chair that was actually rocking back and forth. She whimpered and my breath hitched in my throat. We walked away as fast as we could and made it to what looked like a kitchen. We sat down in the giant chairs and Amy burst out in tears.

"We're never getting out of here! I'm never going to see my parents or my brother ever again!" she sobbed. If only she knew how right she was

"Never again. Never again." the voices whispered again. Then, out of no where, the drawers opened along with the cupboards and knives, plates, and whatever else was in there, came flying at us. We screamed and ducked. After that, we ran out and throughout the house. Every room we went in, something flew at us in an attempted murder. Soon we split apart and ran to opposite sides of the house. I hid under a bed and silently cried. I suddenly heard Amy's blood curdling scream echo through the house and I shot out and ran searching for her. I ran down a dark hallway and slipped on something. I fell on my stomach and I felt something wet underneath me. I tapped my finger in it and dabbed my tongue with it. Blood. Chills ran up my spine and I turned my head to the left. I screamed when I saw Amy's body right next to mine. Her eyes were dull and dark.

"Oh my god! Amy!" I screeched. I shook her roughly , but nothing happened. I got up and started running. Suddenly, a translucent figure appeared in front of me.

"Why Mary, you're all bloody." the woman said tilting her head to the side.

"How do you know my name?! Who are you?!" I yelled.

"I've been watching you. Your name is Mary. Why are you bloody Mary?"

"Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary." the voices were here again. A knife appeared in the woman's hand and she shot her arm out at me. I jumped back and she smiled coily.

"The only way to get out of here is to die Mary. I'm only helping you." she growled in a strange voice. Her face morphed into a twisted, bloody mess. I screamed again and started backing up. I tripped over a chair and fell backwards. She lunged and that was the last thing I saw.

Jamie's P.O.V

I walked into our new home and looked around. We had moved to a small town in Massachusetts on Brickhem road. It was creepy looking, but creepy is the kind of house dad likes. "Jamie? Son come help me with the boxes." Dad yelled from outside. I groaned and stomped back outside. When we had finished unpacking, it was already 7:30. We ate dinner and I went to bed early. Really early. I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I had heard rumors about this house. About a girl named Mary and her friend that died here. I heard that Mary, or now known as Bloody Mary, haunted this place and all of the other ghosts left because of her. There was also a way to see her too. Turn off the lights and spin around while saying her name. If you didn't turn the lights on fast enough, she would kill you. I tried it real quick and nothing happened. After I brushed my teeth, I climbed into bed. I closed my eyes and as soon as I did, I heard the sound of footsteps on the creaky floor. I looked up and saw nothing. I lay back down and heard it again. I looked around and saw a girl in a bloody, white dress with a kitchen knife in her hand.

"Go. To. Sleep." she whispered. I closed my eyes and screamed
