Today had been an extraordinarily boring day. Even more boring than usual which I didn't think would be possible here at Franklin High where everything was so boring you -
'Miller can you please keep your hands to your self. And McKinley, stop letting him touch you,' Andrew withdrew his hand from my hair, which he was tugging half-heartedly from beside me while he tried to get my attention about something. I zoned out on most of his chatter every Monday morning since all he ever did on Monday morning was whine about Monday mornings.
A cat call rang through the class and everyone burst into silent giggles - Mr. Brickett's casual innocent mid-class warning turned into an innuendo.
I turned slightly pink against my will and scowled to myself. Out of the corner of my eye to my right, I saw Andrew sink a bit in his seat and fondle with his sweater sleeves. I looked to the source of the cat call and was completely not surprised to see a raven haired ape maliciously smirking at me. As I looked he fanned his face and sighed through his mouth. More giggles - this time a bit more high pitched - echoed through the room. One of his ape friends sunk into a full blown ballad of Selena Gomez,
'Can't keep my hands to myself. No matter how hard I am trying to..' I watched as Rivers bit his lip and hugged himself in a rather perfect imitation of a horny woman. Then again, maybe it wasn't so much of an imitation than him just being himself. The class now burst into laughter, some of the people were laughing so hard they were foaming at their mouths.
That saggy old hypocrite Brickett only looked on through his glasses until the laughter died down a bit for him to mildly say, 'Settle down everyone,'
The class returned their attention to the front of the class as Brickett got on with explaining substitution reactions. Mathew smirked at me again, one side of his mouth hooked up, and whispered something into Rivers' ears, and they both burst out laughing. I ignored them and instead listened to Brickett.
The rest of the class almost passed uneventfully until the last 10 minutes. Of course Mathew had to finish the small quiz given before everyone else and see that I was done too, and think bullying me was the perfect way to end the lesson. For him, not me.
'Hey McKinley!' he called hunger lacing his voice. I turned around unwillingly halfway, to look at his green eyes sparkling with delight, where he was seated one seat down the next column. It was ridiculous how bothering me made him so happy.
'What?' I spat back venomously.
'Don't you think you better tell your boyfriend how much of a prude you are, so he won't get his hopes up?' His stupid cretin friends all sniggered nastily, but I eased my scowl.
'Don't worry he's not a slut like you,'
I watched him slowly turn a fiery shade of red in anger, although what I said was kind of lame. His jaw clenched in hostility, making his features harden like granite. This only made him look better, sadly. Instead of saying anything he reached into the bag of one of his friends on his other side and drew out a tub of Haagen Dazs rum and raisin ice cream which had probably melted despite the air conditioning.
And he calls me a freak, when he has friends who carry that shit around with them.
As I watched he opened the cap and then tossed the whole melted contents.
On me.
It hit me squarely on the side of my face, coating most my hair in it. I looked down at my uniform aghast, mouth open in disbelief, to see it dripping down my front onto my black sweater - mandatory uniform.
