I jump over a log, and shift into my black wolf as I hit the ground.
Take over. I mindlink with with my wolf, Kara.
Calm down. Don't worry. I got this.
After that she did, she took over and I had zero control of what I was doing. Everything was moving faster around me.
I was suddenly up in a tree, masking my scent with the strong stench of the leaves.
I had my control back, and sat, watching a group of guards from my pack sniffing the air.
I jumped down, and shifted back into my human after I see them pound back towards the camp.
I mindlink back with my wolf.
Kara, where do I go, what did my parents leave for me here?
Back up in the tree. A bag, it has more supplies.
Thank you, Kara, I would be nowhere without you.
At those words I said, I smiled. I wouldn't be nowhere, I would be no one. With no wolf inside me, I would be nothing, not a werewolf at all. Damn, thinking about that just makes me laugh. If I was not a werewolf, I would be a normal, weak, human.
I climb back up into the tree, and see the bag Kara was talking about.
I jump down after I drop it, and check its contents.
-3 water bottles
-meat
-a map
There was something else too, a necklace.
I hold it up, inspecting it.
A blue moonstone held in a golden frame.
I put the gold chain around my neck, zip the backpack, and walk off with it slung over one shoulder.
I held the map out in front of me. If it weren't for my wolf eye-sight, I would be able to see nothing.
I notice how cold it was getting, and shifted. I know that my fur will keep me warm.
I keep walking, the backpack now hanging from my mouth.
I see a cave about half a mile east and start heading in that direction.
Just as I am about to step into the cave, I feel a pain shoot up my hind leg.
I turn my head and inspect the wound.
A bullet, of course. Hunting season.
I let a growl escape from my lips, and quickly follow the scent to my attacker.
I felt bad, he was just a little boy, so I went after his father.
After the father was on the ground, I walked away, hoping the boy would stay where he was curled up into a ball.
I go behind a tree and shift back.
I sprint over to the boy. "Oh my god, kid, are you okay? What happened?" I look over to his father, but look away, I hated having to do this to a poor little boy who was just learning to shoot. " Here, come with me."
I pick the crying boy up off the ground, and carry him to the cave I found.
After we get to the cave, I set him down and tell him I will be right back.
I go out to find ferns to make a bed.
When I get back to the cave, I see the boy sitting there, still crying. So I set down the ferns.
" Do you want to stay with me? I promise I will take very good care of you." I walk up to him, get on my knees next to him, and take him in my arms. I feel him nod, and am surprised he even answered my question.
" What is your name?" I pull my head away, and look at him. He didn't move his, as we sat there for a moment.
" Alex." I hear through the sobs.
" Alex, don't worry, your safe."
We sat there like that, Alex crying in my arms, until he fell asleep.
I lay him down in the bed I had made with ferns, and cover him with a blanket I had found on my hunt for ferns.
Kara, should I keep him?
I am your wolf, the choice is yours. He may not even be a wolf.
I know, but I can always just stay human around him. And show him after he gets over his dads death.
Maybe, like I said: The choice is yours.
I think about it, but before I decide, I drift off to sleep.

Well, what do you guys think? Does she keep him? Will he survive?
Well surprise, surprise! I have zero idea.
