It was a cold summers evening and
Rei and Nagisa were making their way to the train station from practice they had just said their goodbye's to Makoto and Haru.
"Come on Rei-chan!" shouted the blonde from a short distance ahead.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" replied Rei catching up from behind.
They both stood and waited for the train to arrive, Nagisa was eating some sort of chocolate coated piece of sugar and Rei decided to read a book as Nagisa was being unusually silent. The train shorty arrived after they came to the station and they both boarded and took their seats.
Rei suddenly broke the silence by saying "What's wrong Nagisa, you're being unusually quiet this evening?"
"Oh, n-nothing," the blonde quickly replied.
That was a lie. The truth was Nagisa's head started to spin around Rei. His heart would pound, his throat would suddenly become dry, and he just longed to reach out to touch him and feel him.
Nagisa loved Rei more than humanly possible, everytime he saw him since day one, he wanted to just plant a kiss on his sweet red lips. But he was afraid he would tell him to leave him alone, or turn him down, or freak out if he told him the truth. So for the time being he remained silent about his feelings for the tall blue haired boy.
Rei was worried normally Nagisa wouldn't shut up on the way home, but today was different, today he was quiet and although he was sitting there right next to him he seemed to be drifting away to a distant state of mind. He cared deeply about the blonde next to him in fact he thought that he might even be in love with him. But he wasn't one hundred percent sure about that theory. I mean that what it was all about right? Theory and putting theory in to practice. Well that was all that mattered to him anyways theory and being able to carry out said theory. But lately after spending some time with Nagisa he was starting to think there was more to life than just theory and numbers.
Finally their stop was called out and Nagisa shot out of his seat and helped Rei up out of his.
After about a minute of walking in silence Nagisa slipped his hand into Rei's and just kept walking with him.
When Rei felt his the Blonde's hand worm it's way into his own he didn't stop him at all he just held on to it without uttering a single word.
Much to their own dismay they quickly arrived at Rei's house. Nagisa quickly removed his hand from Rei's.
"Goodbye, Rei-chan," was all the blonde could say.
"Goodb-" suddenly without thinking Nagisa was kissing Rei hard on his lips. And Rei was doing nothing to stop him. In fact Rei slowly put his hands around the tiny blonde's waist and pulled him into himself. They stood their on Rei's front porch embracing each other in a hug.
"I-I'm sorry Rei-chan," was all he could manage to say with his face burrowed down in Rei's chest.
"Don't apologise, I enjoyed it." replied Rei.
A smile gradually grew on Nagisa's face and he ran down the path and skipped on home.
"I LOVE YOU REI-CHAN!" he shouted in a playful tone halfway down the street.
"I love you too" Rei said softly to the night as he watched his blonde haired friend skip on home.
"You're not a number at all" murmured Rei.
