"No, that's my final answer." I told my best friend Ella,
"And why not? Are you even going to give me a reason? She begged.
I thought for a moment. " I- my life is here."
Ella sighed, " Your so called 'life' is studying a bunch of crap you will never need in the real world. I honestly think your life will be okay here while we are in Cali!"
"California?" She replied.
"Yup. Now your interested?" Ella said getting excited.
"Oh my god I've always wanted to go there!"
"Really?" Practically jumping up and down
"No"
I know Ella was right I kinda do need a vacation, but becoming a doctor didn't just happen over night. It is just one summer and that's only two and a half months. I could bring my school books I suppose.
" I'm taking my books. I will be studying just as much."
" Yes. Yes. Yes! YES!!!" She seemed satisfied, she wasn't going to let off until I said yes
" Just so you know, I hate you for this." I sighed just to be dramatic
"I'm 10 feet tall! ROAD TRIP!"
I know I should be happy. I just don't want to change my path. I had my life planned out since I was 10 years old. All my life, I wanted to go to Yale (accomplished), become a doctor (working on it), Get married (no comment), have 2 kids (also no comment) and live happily ever after in my decent sized house with my loving perfect family. Ella just doesn't get it, she thinks college is just like in the movies. In her world partying is all that matters.
