"Did you remember to bring your stuff today Mikysha?"
"No, I didn't. I was busy finishing a project with Tasha," she said fiddling her fingers.
"I thought Markus was her partner."
"He was." Mikysha lowers her head, "That was the case until he hasn't come home yet, so I'm covering for him until then."
"Your family is werid especially your Mom. I still remember the time when she-"
"Please don't talk about it!" Mikysha screamed, "I have to go anyways. I will talk to you later." Mikysha walk towards her last bell of the day. She was already 47 minutes late, but that didn't matter to her. She sat down at her desk and puts her head down.
"Mikysha, if your going to show up late to class, please be more quiet."
"Whatever," she replied, placing her head back on the table.
"We are working on a project," she said, throwing a packet onto Mikysha's desk, "I'm not repeating myself so you better read over that if you want to be caught up." Mikysha lifts her head and looks at the packet. It was the same project her brother and Tasha did. Mikysha smiles.
"This will be easy. I'll just make another copy of their project and turn it in as my own. I should get credit for it anyways since I helped out."
A few moments later, a boy walks into the classroom. He still had his bookbag and jacket on, so he must be a new student. The whole class looks at him while he had a conversation with the teacher.
"You must be the new student the office just told me about."
"I don't know why they told you of my presence when they didn't even know I was coming yet," he said in a calm voice.
"Umm, well you can have a seat in the desk right there," the teacher told him, pointing to an empty desk in the back of the room. The class was whispering among each other as the boy sat down in his seat. He seemed to have a shady character and it felt werid to be close by him. He also wore a great deal of black clothing. After a while, they stop paying attention to him since he stared back at them with his hazel, emotionless eyes.
"Werid."
The final bell of the school day rang. The students pour into the hallways. Tasha, Ambri, Hana and Airi waited for Mikysha by her locker.
"What am I going to do with her? She is always taking everything as a joke. We really need to pratice for our cultural dance, but she always misses practice, and when she comes to practice she plays around. We need her for the soprano part in the song we are going to sing."
"She must be having a hard time since her brother went missing. I would be sad if my brother did," said Airi.
"She doesn't even like her brother. She is always mad when he is around. People always call her his little sister even though they are twins. He also steals the attention away from her."
"Its not our fault he's hot," Airi laughed.
"Be quiet Airi, she is coming." Mikysha came running down the hallway very fast.
"Move out the way," she said, quickly putting in her locker combination.
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Tasha asked.
"I have something to do right now and I have to hurry before it gets away." She took everything out her locker and forcefully shove it in her bookbag.
"But what about our dance pratice!"
"I'll catch up later. Right now, I have an adventure to go on," she smiled as she took off down the stairs.
"You better," Ambri said folding her arms across her chest.
Mikysha ran outside. "I need a place to hide." She took cover in a bush and waited there, patiently. The strange boy from before was walking in the distance. He past by the bush that Mikysha was in. She came out the bush when he was far away from her.
"Target sighted." She follows him around town for an hour. He only looked back at her a couple of times, but did nothing else. "Where is he going?" she whispered. They both walk down a dark alley that seem to be endless. It was dark there and no sign of any other life form.
A crashing sound came from behind Mikysha. She fell down to the ground and screams."What is that?" She lifts her head and saw the top of a trashcan spinning on the ground. She sigh and gets back on her feet. "Now where did you... go!" Her voice echoed throughout the alley. The boy was no longer in sight. There was nothing to hide behind and the walls were to tall to climb that fast. The end of the alley was still not in eye sight either. Mikysha stood there in shock. Noises begin to come from the other side of the alley. "Who's there?" Mikysha said, her voice trembling as she spoke. The noises continue and gets louder by the second. Mikysha steps back and takes off running back to the entrance, "I'm not getting killed today." The noise follows her. She makes it out the alley and runs all the way to her house, which was very far from there. The noise dies away when she is a house away from hers. Mikysha burst through the door and closes it behind her. She locks the door and holds her back against it. She slides down and sighs of relief. Mikysha's mother was doing her weekly workouts in the den.
"Mikysha, what happened to you!" she cried, "You came home very late. The street lights are already on."
"I just got lost," she replied. She got up off the floor and walks to her room. The first thing she did was grab her phone and check her messages; she forgot about her phone when she left for school this morning. She had to rush over to Tasha's house to help her carry the project to school.
Mikysha is 14 years old and is in the 8th grade. When she was born she was sent to an orphanage with brother and her other sister- they are triplets. Her sister died a year ago, and to this day, they still don't know who the perpetrator of the crime was. Mikysha and her sister look exactly the same, but barely look like their brother. He is super tall compared to them. Maybe that's why people call her his little sister.
She turns her phone on and there was 47 messages that she didn't look at. They were all sent around the same time, around 4.
She unlocks her phone and reads the messages. She laughs, "Ambri really does know how to work my nerves. She needs to calm down." Mikysha places her phone back on the charger and looks up at her ceiling. She thought about the new boy that was in her last bell. Early today, she spilled her papers on the floor and had to stay to pick them up. When she picked up a sheet by his desk, she say saw a paper on his desk with werid writing on it. The paper was also wrinkled up and it looked like it was written a long time ago. She looked it until, the boy snatch it off his desk. "People in this class don't know how to keep their eyes off things," he mumbled when he walked out the classroom. What was he hiding? Curious, Mikysha decided to follow him home. She wasn't interest in him or anything, she just wanted to see where he would go. That was until her plan was backfired by the top of a trash can. Mikysha closes her eyes and smiles.
"I will uncover you."
