Quinn waited silently, watching the dying fish in the aquarium in front of her float by. She was nervous and continued to wonder why she was here, waiting, in the first place. The hospital was one place she'd never want to end up, a science lab was no better. She was chosen when these scientists came to the school and drew names from a hat. Why the school allowed this? She believes the scientists "donated" money to the school, a couple of thousands her friends bet her. Her parents thought that it might have been a  good idea, they convinced her and themselves that this is the best for science. In Quinn's mind, it was boring. She didn't actually know what she was waiting for, all she was asked was that if she was ok with being tested on. She thought it was perfectly fine, her life is very fun and interesting, she did sport, academic gala days, she has lots of good friends,  but risk taking like this was on of Quinn's many fortes. One of the fish floated to the top of the tank, side up, and then her parent's came out to her, lovingly and they entered the room.

The experiment was simple, the scientists wanted to see if they could give a human a tail. Strange, yes but they believed it was possible as humans have a tail bone, a possible place where a tail could've grown if it weren't for evolution. Well, that was what they believed. Quinn was regretting everything, and it seemed as if her parents were too. The scientists seemed insane in her eyes. Quinn ran out of the room grabbing her parents' hands. "Ok, is this is good idea?" She asks with a twinge of excitement in her eyes. "I don't know, I mean I thought this experiment would be for something different but, Quinn if you do want to be apart of it..." Her dad's voice trails off. There was regret in her mother's eyes. Quinn's eyes trail off and she starts looking around outside the lab room. They were at a private lab and that was worrying enough. But she knew one thing, even if she said no, someone else would have to complete the experiment, and with this thought, Quinn decided to make this situation more dramatic, and made herself seem heroic and noble. "I guess I'll do it, I mean even if I do die, hey, it was in the name of science!" Her parents looked unconvinced. "You know, even if I don't do it, they'll probably encourage me to do it or get some other kid to volunteer for their experiment." Silence. Her parents knew that the experiment would have to go through, and they had lots of faith in their daughter. Her other "adventures" were proof enough of that. Quinn's eyes drifted as her parents began asking her if this was really ok with her. She saw the dead fish again, the other fish were nibbling at it's dead corpse.
