"Diana..." my mother screamed from downstairs.
"Yes?"
"would you run to the market for me?,we have guests coming over for dinner."
"Sure, mom" I replied as I was walking down the steps, fully dressed and ready to go.
"Thank you,but please be back by 5 they'll be over at seven"said handing me a long list of ingredients for tonight's dinner.
"Sure thing,but whose coming over?"
"Just my coworker and her son,I think he's about your age"
"Cool,I'll be back by 5"I said as I was walking out the door.
when I reached the stop sign at the end of the street I realized that I should've brought a sweater with me,because it was kind of chilly due to the dark clouds covering the sun.
But I didn't want to turn back now because the market was only ten minutes away,I could handle having a few goosebumps.
As I approached the market, with my mothers list in my hand,I heard someone whistle (a.n. I think it's called cat whistle but idk)
I didn't think anything of it because I had no makeup on and I was wearing leggings and an oversized shirt.so in other words I didn't look that great.
But when I heard the whistle again I looked behind me to see a very attractive teen leaning against the brick wall smoking a cigarette.I scrunch my nose as he exhaled smoke into the chilly air.
"Are you just going to ignore me?"the boy said,he had an accent,British maybe?
"You should be thanking me"he said
"For what,might I ask" I replied confused.
"For complementing you"
"Whistling at ladies is not complementing them" I said surprised at how ignorant this boy sounds.
"Well doll face it is in my book" he said taking another puff of his cigarette and then proceeding to drop to the ground and put it out with his boot.
"Well it isn't in my book" I said as I walked into the store.
I watched from the window as the boy rolled his eyes and walked out of my sight.
I gathered all the things on the list my mother gave me and from what I could tell,we were having lasagna.
As I made my way to the register I double checked the list to make sure I didn't forget anything.once I was sure I didn't I payed with the money my mom gave me and put the change into my pocket.
I exited the store with my hands full of bags.i regretted walking at this point because it had started rainy about half way home.i rushed home and I walked through the the door at 3:45.
"Do you need help cooking?" I asked even though I really didn't want to help.
"I'll be fine,go get ready"she ensured me.
"and dress nice, you never know her son maybe good looking" my mother said grinning to herself.
"Sure thing mom " I said as I rolled my eyes and headed upstairs.
As soon as I was in my room I layer on my bed and took out my laptop to watch Netflix. After two episodes of FRIENDS I decided it was time to get ready. I hopped in the shower as my shower playlist played from my phone. After singing for about ten minutes while washing my hair I decided to get out and actually get ready.i blow dried my short curly brown hair which only made it puff up. So I had no choice but to straighten it.
I walked over to my dresser and picked out a creme sweater, light wash jeans and tan combat boots.i threw my outfit on,and when I saw it in the mirror I decided that it would suffice.
I walked over to my vanity to start my makeup.i decided on a natural look today and went with foundation, bronzer and mascara with a touch of pink lipgloss.Once I decided that I looked decent enough I went downstairs to help my mom set the table.
Since four off us would be eating I set two extra place mats down and prepared everything for food.As I was helping my mom with the finishing touches the doorbell rang.
"Oh Diana would you get that please I'm not quite finished.
"Sure" I said as I approached the door
I opened the door with a smile on my face, but as soon as I was greeted by the person on the other side of the door,my smile faltered.
