chapter 1!

Jackson's Pov

"this is going to be a great opportunity for us you know!" my mom exclaimed.

We were moving to Phoenix to be closer to my mom's best friend, Kendall, who was basically her sister growing up. I was also close with her son who was my age, Chris. Not to mention our dad's are best friends. Our dad's were low key famous "back in the day"

This just makes it harder for me to live up to my dad's standards. My dad, Shawn, had been a famous singer and expected me to do great things as well. Anyways I'm getting ahead of myself.

So my mom was tired of being alone so she decided to have us pack up and move, which didn't really matter to me since I was bored of living in illinois.

We had just gotten to Phoenix and my mom was practically jumping out of her seat. All my friends told me I had a hot mom, which was weird. My dad told me it was like that in high school too. My mom, Hadley, had been popular and wasn't afraid to show her confidence. I took after my dad more than my mom for sure.

We pulled up to our house which was a couple doors down from the Espinosa's. The Espinosa's came over and helped us move our boxes. After about two hours of lifting and moving boxes, I was really tired.

"Jackson come here" Chris called. I put down the last box and jogged over to Chris.

"So there's this party tonight.." he stated.

"Let's go" I agreed and he grinned and grabbed his keys.

"Hey everyone, Jackson and I are going to a party!" he yelled. They yelled something but we were already out the door.

"So who's party is this?" I asked.

"My friend, Landon's" he answered.

Chris was cool, he was chill with all the popular guys back home before they moved and I expected the same here. Girls always liked him. Same with me. I'm not cocky, just honest.

We pulled up to this huge house and Chris parked and we both got out and walked in.

Chris was introducing me to a lot of cool people that I would be going to school with. After about an hour or so, he had to go to the bathroom so I waited for him.

I was getting a drink when a girl approached me, "Hey, I'm Cassidy.. I've never seen you around before"

Cassidy had brown, wavy hair and brown eyes. She was pretty and seemed nice.

"Hey, and yeah I just moved here. My name is Jackson Mendes. My friend Chris Espinosa invited me to the party." I responded.

"oh I gotcha, Chris is nice! So where did you move from?" She questioned.

"illinois" I answered.

"oh wow. that's pretty far. And cold" she laughed. I chuckled. It was starting to get kinda awkward but I didn't know how to kindly tell her to leave.

"So I don't really know who you are.. care to tell me more about yourself?" she asked. I clenched my jaw, this girl wasn't really getting the hint. She seemed cool but now she was coming off as pushy.

"um well I play basketball and baseball-"

"Do you have a girlfriend?" she cut me off.

"Oh uh" I said awkwardly.

"sorry.. I know that sounded really straight forward" she apologized but didn't seem very sorry. That's when another girl approached the scene.

"Oh hey Cass" the girl said.
