Asher's pov
"Asher! Man, wait up!" My friend, Charlie, yelled at me from across the parking lot. I waited till he was two steps away from me before I started walking again to my car.
"Hey, did you know that your next door neighbor is throwing a party tonight?!?" Charlie practically screams in my face. I stop and process what he said and unlock my doors to my car and get in.
I haven't spoken to Her in a solid two weeks. That's a really long time for us. I don't even know what I did wrong.
Okay, scratch that, maybe I do. I don't like her, no; I like her best friend, Jesse. Man, that girl has the most beautiful green eyes I have ever seen in my whole 19 years of life. But I did hook up with her two weekends ago and She walked in on us. I know She likes me. Yet I still hook up with her best friend about 4 times a month which isn't even that bad compared to some guys in this town.
I tell Charlie that I have to visit my younger brother and that I wouldn't be able to make it.
"Dammit Asher, I thought you would want to party and forget the whole neighbor walking in on you hooking up with Jesse. I can't blame you, that girl is hot. But she is just one girl and gets any guy she can just for the day. I don't even understand how Harley even has time to hang out with her." Charlie tells me as I'm driving his lazy ass home which is a block over from the store that we were just at.
"Charlie I can't be around her yet. You don't understand the look she had in her eyes. It was heartbreaking. I don't like her. I just, we've been friends since we were in diapers and I wouldn't want me to go in and catch her in the act with, ew, like you; or our other friends. I need to protect her from that stuff." I try to tell Charlie.
