Rein and Leo had just finished the task that was given to them by Zider and are now heading home. Rein grinned as she swept back her long black hair, "Today was a good day to hunt Leo."
Leo looked at her; his aqua eyes met her violet ones. "More importantly, those kids are starting to become more accustomed to their powers." He hummed.
"They are really growing up fast. Even Alistair isn't much of a crybaby anymore." Rein whined.
"Heh, what do you expect, they are Shadows. Shadows are not human or anything so they are surely going to excel from this." Leo came to a halt. He sniffed the air and smelled something burning.
"Leo... the smoke is coming from our house."
The two hurried and noticed their house is burning faster than they imagined.
"Leo! The kids, have you seen them?!" Rein panicked as she tried to get a grasp of her senses.
"I'll look for them! For now, put out the fire first."
Rein looked at the fire engulfing their house and extended her left hand. "Come hither, you do not belong here." The fire moved towards her, leaving the house, and what seems to be remained from it. As fire engulfs her body, it slowly started to disappear.
"Good thing you can control fire." Leo sighed.
She smiled, and noticed something moving from the rubble of their house. She scurried towards it along with Leo and noticed the kids, all four of them huddled and a magic barrier protecting them.
Rein could almost cry from relief. The barrier dissipated and a young child of about 10 years of age weakly closed the book he is holding. His red hair is disheveled and even his ruby eyes are almost dilated. "Dennis did this..." At that moment she was proud of him and to the other two who are protecting the youngest among them.
After the event, sounds of crying and snorting made her look at Alistair. He was at the same age as his two other brothers, but was considered to be the eldest among them. She hugged him tight wiped the tears from his silver eyes, stroke his red hair lovingly and told him how proud she was to what they have done.
Leo approached the other brother named James and ruffled his silver hair. "Good job kid." James flashed him a thumbs up and handed him the youngest among all of them. "Cheeky, brat." Leo claimed, but took the child anyway.
As he met the child's face it made cooing sounds and clapped his hands, "Daddy!" the young baby boy said.
Rein chuckled at the two's direction and repeated the words, "Daddy~" as a tease towards him.
Leo handed her the child and she kissed the child in the forehead. His brown hair is covered in a bit of ash but his brown eyes say that he doesn't mind it at all. He's only three years old, but he could already speak long words, "Mommy!" the baby said.
"Kotaro, I'm so glad you are safe." She hugged him tight.
A figure emerged where they are standing and startled them.
"What happened here?" a gruff voice inquired, and Rein sighed in relief.
Zider, looked at their house with disbelief, "Good thing his hair is white." Rein chuckled at the thought.
"We just ran as fast as we can to get here. We noticed the smell of smoke and something burning. But that is what we all had found." Leo reported.
Dennis handed Rein a piece of cloth, much to her utter shock.
"It's him... He wants to end what he started." She whispered.
