One day a girl named Alex, was running away from home. She ran into the forest by her house hoping to have a little time by herself. Of course her dad came running into the forest after her, so she ran faster, weaving in between trees hoping to lose her dad. About half an hour later she was sitting in a carved out tree. She stuck her hand into the very back of the tree and pulled out her hand revealing a bow, she reached in again, but this time she pulled out a bag of arrows. Walking over to a hand made target, she starts shooting aimlessly at the target and surprisingly hits the target in the middle every time. After shooting every arrow in the bag, she picks up all the arrows and starts walking home, only, she can't. She forgot which way to go home. She looks around the forest looking for a path from the way she came.
She turned around in a circle, the worn down path was nowhere to be seen. Then she remembered, when she was littler she came out in the woods to build a cabin with her brother. Walking to her little cabin she heard a stick snap. Most people would turn around to see what the noise was, but not Alex. Alex ran, she ran faster than she ever had. It only took her two minutes to get to the cabin. The whole way she ran she thought she heard something running behind her. Before she went into the cabin she swung around and saw nothing. Deciding it was just her imagination, she went inside. Inside was a table with matching chairs, two small beds, and a wood burning heater. She lurked outside to find sticks to burn.
Twenty minutes later she comes back into the cabin with her arms full of sticks, she throws them into the heater. Sticking her hand under one of the beds, she pulls out a pack of matches. As she opens the box and lighting a match she throws it into the heater and closing the door, she hears a tap at the window. Cautiously she stalks over to the window and looks outside. Seeing nothing, she shrugs and walks over to one of chairs sitting by the table. When she sits down she starts thinking about her brother. Thinking about how she could have saved him that night...
