Chloe

Today was my first day as a Junior in high school. I personally think high school is stupid, but I have to go anyway. I could hear my clock but it sounded far away. I checked my phone and it was the sound of Penny and Riley calling me.

"Yes" I groaned at them as I got out of bed.

"What in the world are you wearing today!" Riley shouted. I missed her, she was with her mom in South Africa for the summer. Her mom studied the rain forests, and Riley hated it. Penny on the other hand was at a sleep away camp for the whole fricken summer! She was having to practice the cello and apparently she went with one of our friends, Four.

"I don't know, probably my Arctic Monkeys crop top with jeans and a jean jacket." I said finally waking up.

"So you do know." Penny said overly happy.

"Why are you so happy? It's like 7:00 in the morning." I knew why, it was because of her guy friend. I just wanted to hear her say it.

"I am not happy, I'm just excited to see you guys." Riley and I both giggled then stopped because we knew that it would make Penny hang up.

My phone started to buzz again and I saw it was an incoming call from Xavier and Alex.

"Guys, I got to go. I'll see you when you get here."

"Okay, Byeeeee!" Penny and Riley squealed as I pressed answer.

"Chloe, Alex thinks that you won't be taller than me this year." Xavier said in a way that made it seemed like he was telling his mom that his brother ate the last cookie.

"No. I said that Xavier might be taller, that's all." Alex said in a stone cold tone that made me laugh.

"Shut up both of you and tell me how you've been." I hadn't seen them in two months when Xavier went backpacking with his family and Alex went to a filmmaking camp. I was pretty lonely that summer but today was the start of something new. I kept talking to them as I walked downstairs. My mom was rushing out the door taking my little brother to school. She said goodbye and let me know that my dad had a meeting so I had to drive myself. Which was okay with me.

"So Chloe what did you do this whole summer?" Alex said without even looking at me.

"Well, I got my driver's license. Also I met a guy." I said.

"Wait, What?" Xavier sounded surprised.

"Oooo, Chloe's got a boyfriend." Alex teased.

"No. He's just..." I stuttered.

"Wait, you got a boyfriend. Is he in our class?" Xavier sounded worried.

"What, no he is not." I was kind of overwhelmed by the Idea of Cody being my boyfriend.

"What's his name?" Xavier sounded sort of mad.

"Cody Thomas." Alex was still quiet and I had to check the call to see if he was still on it.

"No. Not him." Now he did sound kind of mad.

"What do you know him?" Right then Penny walked in and about five seconds later Riley walked in too.

"Xavier, i'll talk to you later. Bye Alex." I hung up.
