"What? Did you think everything was going to be all normal proposing to Mikayla?" Liam fired back to Zayn in their argument.

"It was normal?" Zayn said straight back to him. They were still arguing over the whole proposing-thing, since Zayn was all over the tabloids for it. It wasn't the best publicity for their upcoming tour next year.

"No, that's the point, Zayn.. listen, We're not normal people." Louis told him, suddenly joining the conversation.

"No. How about you listen, this is my life. Not yours, not the band's, not anyone else's, but mine." Zayn stormed out of the living room. Well, that didn't end well. Neither has anything lately, considering I haven't talked to Niall in a day since the kiss. Louis got up shortly after and tells us he's leaving to go on a date. I start to wonder who it's with.

"So...this is probably...really bad timing. But, do you guys think I should officially end it with Laura?" Harry said. I tried to bite my tongue, I really did.

Maybe I should just keep things quite of the matter. But I guess it's okay to break the ice of the topic. Niall gets up from the couch and storms into the kitchen, Liam follows him in mumbling something about a recipe. Wow. Niall was that embarrassed about kissing me? Well, two can play at this game.

"Actually..now that you mention it.. she seems like one of those people that does something amazing in the moment, then completely ignores you and any other connections you've ever had with them." I gasped for air, happy to get it off my chest. I looked at Niall who stands eating a bowl of cereal jaw-dropped.

Harry said, "Okay..well I guess I could jus-"

"Actually, now that were on the subject, doesn't everyone deserve a second chance? I mean..maybe she can't find the words to express her feelings to you? Er..right?" Niall jumped onto the couch next to me. Too close when were battling it out. I scooted over a bit, to the edge of the sofa.

"Yeah..I think both of you are right. I'm gonna go ring her right now. Thanks, guys." Harry said then gets up and goes to the other room to dial her.

"Hey, you, me, coffee tomorrow? 11:00?" Niall whispers in my ear, even though we're both alone in the room.

"Sure." I say softly to myself. Maybe it's better to make friends than enemies..but does that rule apply to super-cute amazingly-talented food-loving Irish boys? I guess I'll have to find that out for myself.

THE NEXT DAY, STARBUCKS, 10:56 AM

I walked into the cafe, not knowing what to expect on the date with Niall. Was it even considered a date? All that I know is, that I came there 5 minutes early to calm myself down. I bought two cups of coffee, one for me and one for Niall. I waited about two minutes and Niall walked in, the door bell chiming. He was wearing his usual snap-back, with some sweats and a white V-neck.

"Hey there. How's it going, love?" Niall took a seat across from me. What should I say, that I've been thinking about are relationship all morning? No.

"I'm good, what's up with you?" I replied, trying not to sound weird.. I need to keep myself calm, I've never been this nervous talking to him before, so why should I start now?

"We need to talk...about you know...what happened." Niall told me. Wow. I'm honestly in shock that he said that so non-nonchalantly. So..what do I say back?

"Um..yeah..we do.." I said, but that last of my words I sort of drowned-out in my cup of coffee. The taste of the sweet, creamy latte, calms me down.

"I really like you...but.." He said..looking around the room for support.

Of course there was a "but." There always was. It could never just be, "I love you, Jenna." Not that I wanted Niall to say that. I was pretty pissed off at him, blowing me off like that.
