Alarms blared. Screams echoed. Fire crackled all around, and a thick blanket of smoke filled the air. Chester's heart pounded in his chest as he ran down the hallway clutching the two bundles of cloth in his arms. Inside them were the two most precious things he'd ever been given; his children. He longed to be able to watch them grow up. He wished that they could be a normal family, or even a family at all. But no, he and their mother had known that their children would never be normal. Tears welled up in his eyes at the thought of their mother, Charlotte. He had only just witnessed her death at the hands of the dark sorceress. She had died bravely protecting the children- twins. A boy and a girl. Not that any of that mattered. The plan was simple: get the children to Betsy, who was Charlotte's sister, and the twins' closest relative, (or at least she would be soon), then he had to secure the space shuttle before it exploded, or at least postpone it long enough for the children to be long gone before the dark sorceress could go after them. Chester was the only one able to postpone the explosion. His magic was a special kind. There was only one escape pod left, and somebody needed to stay behind and secure the space station.

Then, he thought to himself, I shall avenge Charlott's death. He finally reached the end of the hallway, where Betsy stood next to the escape pod, waiting for him.

"Do you have them?" She asked. Her voice was stern.

"Yes." Chester wiped a tear from his eye and handed her the bundles. Betsy nodded gravely, took them with surprising care, and entered the shuttle. She gave him one last look of determination before launching the pod, and then they were gone.

Chester turned. There was no time for tears. He sprinted to the control room and stabilized the generator. The red lights turned green, but that would only buy them enough time for the twins to be long gone.

"You haven't saved them," the dark sorceress' voice came from behind him. Chester whirled around. "I will find them."

" Don't underestimate their power. You know the prophecy as well as I do. They will return!"

" Perhaps. But not in time to save you." And she teleported off, leaving him to despair and die. Chester fell to his knees, now all alone. He sobbed and sobbed. Soon he would be with Charlotte. Soon it would all be over. Grief filled his heart. Several minutes later, the whole space station shook, and a deafening boom filled Chester's ears. A light blinded him, and then it was all over.
