They sat beside each other. They didn't talk. They didn't make eye contact.
Larry always had his ear buds in his ears. Listening to trash like Muse and twenty one pilots. He didn't really pay attention to who or what was around him.
Arthur on the other hand noticed Larry. He noticed him a long time ago. He always tried to sit beside him, hoping one day he would look up. Maybe even smile.
But Arthur know that was only a fantasy. Fairy tales weren't real, love was all a hopeless thing that society just keeps trying to catch... And just inevitably ruin it in the end.
Arthur felt said thinking like he. He really tried not to be negative, especially around his friends. They've never seen his hidden dark side. All he wanted was to be loved by Larry. Is that too much to ask for?
"Hey, Arthur!" called his friend, Ronald.
"Hai, Ronald!" Arthur glances over at Larry. But Larry didn't move at all.
Ronald placed his butt 🍑 on Arthur's desk and leaned in towards him. Ronald had a big crush on Arthur, but that's another story.
"What's up?" Ronald asked Arthur. His eyes took a peek at Larry and a smile arced across his face from ear to ear. "Who's this?"
Arthur narrowed his eyes at Ronald. He didn't want anybody to know about his secret crush on Larry. "I dunno,"
Ronald shook his head and his smile disappeared. He was good at knowing when people liked other people. Everything was just so obvious to him. But for once he was sad to figure out that Arthur's eyes didn't shine for him.
"Don't shake your head at me. There's nothing going on." Arthur said. He felt his cheeks redden. He was worried that Larry would hear them through his headphones.
Ronald let out a soft laugh and his smile reappeared. He put his face so close to Arthur's that he could feel the heat radiating from his blushed cheeks. "Sure thing. Then tell me, why's Larry starting at us?"
Ronald glanced over at Larry. He was looking at them. Blush on his cheeks. His eyes were open wide.
Arthur turned and they made eye contact. Arthur gave a shy smile to him. He felt his cheeks flush even more so he looked down, all embarrassed.
"Well?" Ronald teased. "Are you guys dating?"
Larry took out one if his ear buds and let out a sigh. Arthur felt his heart beating faster and faster.
"We're not dating..." Larry replied to Ronald. A sigh of relief washed over Ronald. "We haven't even talked before.... But... I wouldn't mind... Being a couple."
Ronald's face went pale as Arthur's lit up. Both Arthur and Rachel's heart were beating quickly and in unison.
Ronald's heart dropped.
"I!" Arthur stuttered. He didn't know what to say. He was just so overwhelmed with all these sudden emotions. "I wouldn't mind getting together either!!"
"Hey guys.. Let's..." Ronald tried to get in between them. But he knew Arthur would be happy. Arthur would be better with Larry than him. It hurt him so much. "I'll give you guys some space."
Ronald scooted off Arthur's desk. He left a sense of melancholy. But Arthur and Larry didn't notice. They were both still staring at the ground with blushing faces.
"Uh... I should not have said that... oh god why did I-" Larry started but Arthur interrupted him.
"Larry! I love you!" Arthur's eyes were open wide. A wash of confidence and happiness flooded throughout his mind. He'd never been so happy before.
Larry could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He was just so speechless as this has never happened to him before. He honestly just wanted to climb into a hole (with internet) and never come out. But Arthur grabbed his hand.
Their eyes met and then as Arthur held Larry's hand he pulled him closer. He leaned his face closer to the other boy and then met their lips in the middle.
