She cursed the day she was born,
She prayed each day that she was gone
Why couldn't she be the same ?
She didn't even have anyone to blame
She was born mute and it wasn't anyone's fault
But each day was a perpetual assault
She wanted love, she wanted passion
She wanted children and a million grandchildren.
But no one married a girl who couldn't talk
People would laugh and people would mock

One after the other, the proposals came
But the results were predicable, they were all the same.
She had long tresses and the most beautiful dresses
But what use was fame when she couldn't even say her name ?
No one married a girl who couldn't talk
Cause people would laugh and people would mock.

And then one day something different took place
A handsome young man wanted to see her face.
He liked what he saw, she was beautiful and meek
So what if she couldn't talk? She still left him weak.
He said he would marry the girl who couldn't talk
He didn't care if they laughed or even if they mocked.

So the marriage was fixed, it was the day of the wedding
In about an hour, her finger would  have a gold ring
She walked up the aisle, her face bent down cause she was shy
Today she was happy, no more sad sighs.
"Here comes the bride", the violin was playing
Her man was at the alter, already waiting
She went up to him, and lifted her head,
Her veil was removed, it was time to be wed

But when she saw him, she felt like she was slapped
Cause beneath that handsome face, he was a helpless handicap
He had no legs and she didn't have a choice
She couldn't even protest, she didn't have a voice
No wonder he agreed, they said after the marriage,
When the couple had left in their nuptial carriage.
Cause who would marry a girl who couldn't talk?
No one's more suitable than a man who couldn't walk.
