When was the last time I got to venture outside of the castle? I remember going outside with my father the king many years ago as a young girl. Lately I haven't been able to go out. I miss all of the friends I had made in the kingdom and the little girls and boys that I would play with down by the riverbank. Why hasn't my father come to see me in such a long time? It's very lonely up in my room. Luckily Rosy is here with me. Rosy is the puppy that my father had gave me for my birthday 9 months ago.

(9 months earlier)

I was asleep in my bed when I was woken up by my face suddenly becoming wet. I jolted up only to find the most adorable little puppy in the world. She was all black with beautiful blue eyes.

"Good morning sweetie. What do you want to do today?" Said my father, King James.

I thought about it for a few minutes and decided that I wanted to go for a ride on Mystic. Mystic was white with tan spots on her. I had found her as a filly and had raised her. At first she wouldn't even let me near her but soon she warmed up to me and even let me brush her mane. She was a wild one but she also was very smart because I remember on time that she got out of the pasture because she had found a part of the fence that was shorter than the rest. Luckily she didn't go very far before long the stable boy Jeremy had noticed that she was gone and had found her drinking by the river. I am so grateful that he founder her when he did because the forest was crawling with bobcats and wolves and night was approaching. Now Mystic doesn't try to escape because she had taken a liking to Jeremy. She eventually let my ride on her back but not without a lot of coaxing and a few barrels of apples and oats. It was well worth it though because she rides like the wind and never backs down from a challenge.

"Okay, I want to go out for a ride on Mystic with you." I said.

"Okay. I will tell them at the stables to prepare Mystic and Storm." My father replied.

After he had let the room I started to get on my riding clothes. I ran downstairs to get some breakfast. Along the way I heard many different people say "Happy Birthday Princess Crystal." I had a slice of bread with jam and an orange. I secretly snuck some apples in the picnic basket that I was handed. I reached the stables breathless. When I looked up I saw Jeremy standing there, smiling. He was always there when I needed him. He was a very tall and muscular guy. He was about 5" 9 I would say and he had emerald green eyes and chocolate brown hair. He was well toned from working with the horses every day. I smiled back and he told me happy birthday and that he had a surprise for me when I got back from the ride with my father. With that he handed me the reins and said to have a great time. My father was already at the ridge when I finally caught up to him. Storm neighed at our approach. Storm was a grey stallion with black dots covering his body. My father had been raising him since he was a foul. I loved hearing the stories that father told me about Storm. I remember one time Storm had jumped over the highest fence in the meadow an how everyone was panicking searching high and low for him only to find him with my father near the drawbridge. I was brought out of my daydream by my father asking where would be riding to today.

"How about we ride passed Old Man's Brook and towards Sunflower Meadow and then by the Emerald Falls?" I replied.

"Well what are we waiting for?" My father chuckled and lightly dug into Storm's side to have him move forward and then shot across the ridge like a catapult. Mystic and I had no problem keeping up. When we decided that we should stop for lunch I unpacked the picnic and gave Mystic and Storm the apples that I had smuggled out of the kitchen this morning. Next I called for father who was gazing out upon the kingdom. We had a spread of my favorite foods. We spend probably the next two hours talking. It was so much fun being able to talk to my father without anyone bothering us. I hadn't been able to talk to him alone since I was little girl. We decided that it was time to go back home when the sun was getting low in the sky. The whole way back to the castle was spent in quiet. It was awkward but I managed to get through it. When the castle was in sight I speed Mystic's pace. Jeremy was there when my father and I arrived through the gate to take the horses to be brushed and be feed. I raced up into my room to take a shower. After I had dried my hair I put on my jeans and t-shirt. I turned on the TV and found that chopped was on. I must have dosed off because I woke up to a knock on the door. I lazily moved to open the door and there was Jeremy he was smiling. "What did you do this time I ask?"
