Kevin paced outside the locker room, the incessant pounding had finally stopped, "Now what?" He asked Trudy who was hunched over the desk writing something.

She put the cap back on the sharpie and grabbed a roll of tape, tearing a piece off she walked to the door and affixed the sign to the door, 'CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE', "Now? Now we wait" she smiled patting his back.

"Just how long are we gonna leave them in there?" Kevin jammed his hands in his pockets and followed Platt back to the front desk.

Trudy glanced over her shoulder, "however long it takes, now get back to work"

Kim paced in the locker room, walking the small path that ran down the center of the locker room, Adam's eyes following her every move.

He knew she was nervous, her pacing was a dead giveaway.

"Sit down" he spoke, "your pacing isn't going to change anything" he offered, Kim glared at him and he held his hands up, "Sorry.."

Kim tried the door again, much to Adam's amusement, "they haven't unlocked it"

"I know..I was just..never mind" she whispered as she sat on the bench furthest from him.

Adam stood up and braced himself against the lockers, "is it that bad?" His hands in his pockets "being in the same space as me...do you hate me that much?" His voice soft, he was terrified of her answer.

Kim briefly met his gaze, and she could see the pain in his eyes. It was why she had been avoiding him for so long, she knew he was hurting as much as she was and it made her question her decision.

She folded her arms across her chest, "No..I don't hate you"

"That's good to know" Adam smiled softly.

"Just really don't want to be in here" Kim leaned against the wall, "Roman is probably pissed, who knows who Platt partnered him up with"

Adam nodded, "There's no telling.."

They sat in silence for what seemed like forever before Adam spoke again, he couldn't take it any more.

"Why'd you call it off?" He asked, his hands clasped together in front of him, unable to look her in the eye, he stared at the floor.

Kim huffed, "Seriously?"

She couldn't believe he had the balls to ask her. How could he not know why she called it off.

He could see the fire in her eyes, he knew she was pissed, "Yeah..seriously. I gotta be honest I don't have a fucking clue." A thought sprang to his mind one almost to awful to verbalize but he needed to know.

"Is there someone else? Did you meet someone?" Adam asked tentatively.

"Adam!" Kim yelled in frustration, she couldn't believe what he was asking, "No, there's no one else...never will be" she told him.

"Why then? Why'd you call it off?" He asked again, urgency in his voice.

He moved closer to her, "Stop...just stop" she put her hands up to stop his progression, "you aren't ready for marriage...I don't think you'll ever be ready"

It was his turn to be angry, "You don't know what I'm ready for Kim...you took it away from me" he yelled, he didn't mean to yell but dammit if he wasn't angry, "you're the one who ended it...with zero explanation" he was pissed, "all because I canceled one fucking dinner Kim! One dinner!"

The gloves were off now, she wouldn't allow him to blame her, not when he started all of it.

"It's more than that Adam, you lied to me!" She spat, tears brimming in her eyes.
