There are some days where I just simply don't feel cool enough.
Or pretty enough. Or good enough. Or simply ENOUGH, you know? I feel like we
ve all been there at one point, whether it's a fleeting moment, or life battle.
What would happen if we began to see ourselves the way we were created to be -- enough? What would change if we began to walk and run and dance like our struggles and our sin don't define us or keep us in chains, and they are instead the whole reason we get to have a life with Jesus?
What if I told you he's enough so that we don't have to be?
I know wholeheartedly that I approach the throne daily, lacking in anything worth giving. And Jesus still is so crazy about me and you that He can't stand the thought of not being with us. We don't deserve unconditional love. But that's what grace is; it's more than enough love and compassion so that when we decide to fill ourselves up with it, we have more than enough to share with those who are running on empty.
So I tell you today, don't worry about not being enough, let Jesus do that for you. He's already enough and 1000 times more.
XO, Meghan
"Meghan, come downstairs." My mom said sweetly as she lightly knocked on my door to get my attention. "Okay mom, I'll be down in a second." I closed my journal after signing the bottom and placed it under my pillow where it will always stay safe. My parents don't know I write and I don't want them to. It's kind of my own private life that takes me away from reality and makes me think and I don't want anyone to ruin that.
I slipped on my white vans and headed out of my door to meet my mom and dad at the bottom of the stairs looking concerned at one another. I raised my eyebrow once I reached the last step slowly and regretted once I asked what was wrong. "The four boys that are going to be living with us are on their way and will be here in an hour so please make sure the upstairs is cleaned and ready for them and that you are prepared for them as well." My father explained with a soft smile at the end of his speech.
You see my dad is a pastor and he takes in delinquent boys (and one girl once but that ended badly) and they live here for 3 months until they are "whipped back into shape" and ready for the world again changed and better. My dad stopped for awhile because I ended up falling in love with a boy who came here a year ago and once he left he never spoke to me again. And now he is starting back up and he's nervous for me? But I don't let love fool me anymore. I am not going to let one of these boys manipulate me again like the last time. I refuse it!
"Daddy, I'll be fine. I'm not going to let myself get hurt again. I'm happy with Calvin and no one is going to change that. I promise." I reassured him and walked into the kitchen to grab a water bottle and an apple. "I am going to go upstairs and clean the guest bathroom even though it will get dirty again and then I will prepare myself for these boys and for school tomorrow." I gave my dad a kiss on the cheek and a smile also giving my mom a hug before running up the stairs and taking a left to the guest bathroom.
The bathroom didn't need much cleaning just a quick wipe down and some towels and then I headed to the two guest bedrooms making sure they were clean and the beds were made. Once I checked and double checked everything I walked to my room and grabbed my book bag and checked all of my finished homework from the weekend. I smiled at myself for getting everything accomplished and went in my closet to change my clothes for the newcomers.
