Alina felt the wind coming through the passenger side window brush through her hair like silken fingers. She turned her face towards the sun and soaked up as much as she could. Her feet were propped up on the dashboard and her pale legs were exposed in a pair of shorts in a fail attempt to tan. Alina was very pale and she either stayed pale or she ended up looking like a lobster, but she figured if the window protected her legs she would not burn so easily. She sighed and looked over towards the drivers seat to see her best friend Katherine but she usually just called her Kat. Kat had striking black curly hair with bright blue eyes. Her skin has a shimmering note to it but mostly she is pale. Alina on the other hand has bright curly red hair. Her eyes were a emerald color that shone beautifully against her pale skin.
The girls had just left rainy Pennsylvania in search of warm inviting weather, the first thing that had popped to Alina's mind was Savannah, Georgia. Though Kat and her had argued relentlessly about places they finally settled on one idea Little Oak, Texas. They planned on going there buying a small property to start off with but after that they would look into buying a ranch. The girls were both twenty-three and had been cooped up for to long. They had been living with Alina's mother since they were both eighteen, and had finally decided to get out of the state of dark and cold and get some sun shine into there life. Her mother thought she was over doing it by moving out of the state entirely but Alina promised to visit, if she hadn't her mother would have chained her to the big oak tree in their backyard and never would have let her go.
"How much longer till we get there Kat?" Alina asked with a sigh as she leaned her seat back to stretch her legs out more. "Be patient Ali were almost there." Kat laughed. Ali, that was the nickname Kat had given her. Katherine had been Kat and Alina had been Ali since first grade. They had hated each other before that, we hadn't really figured it out, Kat would say because i was prettier then her but i argued her that. Were both exceptionally pretty not drop dead gorgeous, but still, we stood out a bit. I did mostly because of my hair. It was rare to see a red head these days. My hair was a bundle of red curls that went halfway down my back. Kat however got attention because of her eyes. Kat was pale but since her eyes were so bright it made her face sharp and stand out in crowds. The girls were both lookers and sometimes it made them uncomfortable under the stares.
"Me, patient? Ha-Ha very funny Katherine!" Alina said as Kat rolled her eyes at her. "Fine Alina give it about two more hours and we should be there." 'There' was a small two bed room double wide trailer they had bought just outside city limits. It was accompanied with a large wooded area out back which Alina found very much to her liking. Kat admired the front yard and the back porch. Alina smiled as she thought of walking for hours out in the woods touching the trees and hearing the wind whisper secrets to her. Alina loved the peace and quiet. Sometimes she would go on walks and get so lost in thought she would be gone for hours just walking and enjoying everything. ' two hours and we should be there ' Kat had said. Alina sighed "Well I'm going to take a small nap wake me when its time for me to drive." She said and she rolled over and closed her eyes.
Alina woke to the sound of tires on a gravel road. The sun was shining in through the window and grazed just above her left eye. "Alina?" Kat said questioningly "Yeah?" She replied "I think were here you said it was the very last house on the left?" She asked "Yep." said Alina as she sat up stretching and looking at her surroundings. There were several trailers that she could see but mostly it was wide open space. It has a nice look to it. Alina smiled as she saw a little girl playing outside with her dog. 'This is it.' Alina thought to herself. 'This is what i have been looking for.' The sun shined bright over the horizon and in between the trees. As they turned left She saw their house. It was a light blue house with a dove gray tiled top. The mail box looked a bit rusted but not a problem they could just paint over it. From what Alina had seen online it had a wide living space with a fire place, both bedrooms were the same size and had walk in closets.
