Coffee Express

Chapter 1 The Beginning

I turned around and handed the woman her Coffee.
"Have a nice day. " I said
I asked the next person "What would you like to order?"
The man replied "A dark coffee. Please."
I turned around and made his coffee. I looked at the clock and saw I only had 15 minutes until I could leave. I finished his coffee and then gave it to him.
After 15 minutes I said goodbye to my best friend Maddy who works with me. I started to walk home so that I could start applying for colleges.
I unlocked my apartment and then put my hair up in a messy bun and put on a big shirt that was my dad's. I walked over to my desk and wrote 20 application letters.
I thought Hopefully I will be accepted into one of these.
I waited for my pizza and texted Maddy when she would get off. She said 8. I told her to come over when she got off. I waited for my pizza and just sat on my phone watching YouTube.

Maddy came over when she got off. She came in my room and we watched YouTube and ate pizza.
"I applied for 20 colleges. I hope I get accepted into at least on of them." I said
"Rosie, you are a smart and beautiful woman. You will get asked to come to at least half of those." Maddy said.
I could feel the heat rushing I up to my cheeks. I sure hoped she was right.

Three weeks later..
I woke up and looked over and realized Maddy had spent the night. I went to the kitchen and made pancakes. Maddy woke up and we ate in silence. I walked to the door to see if I got mail. I saw that I got a letter. I ran over to Maddy.
"Look! I got one! It's from Yale!"
I opened the letter and read it quickly. I sighed quietly. Maddy looked disappointed.
"I got accepted!"
"Really?" She asked
"Yeah!" I can't wait.
She looked slightly disappointed.
I asked her "What's wrong?"
