Cold. It's cold here. So very cold. My bare feet sink shallowly into the snow below me. With each step, my toes plunge deeper, making it more and more difficult to move, to propel myself forward and reach my destination. Hot tears streamed down my face as I tried to run, left hand gripping my right shoulder, where I could feel a blazing pain that I paid no mind to.

My foot stopped half drag, having caught on a concealed but raised tree root. I threw my left arm out to soften the impact, but right now, I couldn't care less. Landing in the cold snow, I didn't even flinch when my arm and wrist twisted awkwardly beneath my weight, and hearing the pop as my bones dislocated didn't even faze me.

Unmoving, I lay where I landed, watching the steady dribble of crimson fall from the ragged crater that was once my right arm. Grimacing, a feeling of determination pulsed through my mind; I would not be defeated by a mere fall. Letting my useless left arm dangle painfully, I tried pushing myself up with just my knees.

Sharp rapping somewhere to my right sounded out, an echo-y sound, and I swung my head side-to-side, trying to locate it. I stopped doing that as the world spun and seemed to twist away into black.

My eyes snapped open, and almost immediately I had half-shut them again, falling asleep with the light still on hadn't been my brightest idea. I raised my left arm over my eyes and grimaced, turning over slightly so my sight could recuperate a little faster. The reason for my awakening became apparent almost at once, knocking sounded once again, and a soft female voice floated into the room. "(Y/N), it's time for you to wake up. At this rate it'll be afternoon before we know it!" it called.
An inaudible sigh escaped my lips as the voice's owner walked further down the hallway to go and wake everyone else, their footsteps thumping dully against the thinly carpeted floors.
Back arched and head back, I attempted to sit up, groaning all the while.

The one downside to the summer vacation is that us kids were still tasked to wake up before noon.

Once upright, I lean against my pillows and push my forehead in my left hand, shutting my eyes tightly; dwelling on a dream about a memory saved from years and years ago.

After I heard the footsteps from three other people go past my door, I groggily reopened my eyes and swung myself out of bed, taking care to balance before standing, lest I fall. Like what happened the last time.

The wooden floor is cold and I have to walk quickly to my dresser to pick out clothes before I start complaining, but it happens anyway. There is a chill in the air and it's not altogether pleasant.

Shivering lightly, I pull the correct undergarments, a pair of jeans, a (favourite band/singer) T-shirt and a hoodie onto my frame. Lastly, I contemplate wearing socks, and, taking note of how my feet curled on the bed to stop contact with the floor, I decided that yes, socks were necessary.
Finally finished, I crossed the short gap to my door and flicked off the light, opening the door and sticking my head out to check for the projectiles that are my younger siblings. All clear.
I set off down the hallway, rubbing my arms through the fabric of my hoodie. It's surprisingly cold for a day in the middle of summer, but hey, when you live in fog city central, it's all daily routine. Worse in the Winter. But still, daily routine.

Walking into the kitchen and seeing mass chaos is also daily routine.

I used to live with eight other people, until it was whittled down to six, soon to be five.
Living with three older siblings and three younger siblings definitely isn't the best of situations, add in the two parents and it becomes almost painful to bear. Our parents are nice enough, being complete otaku weeaboos, but our dad being sterile, each one of us was adopted as young children, say two or three, except for myself. And boy, if I didn't already have a name that I would only answer to, I would have gotten one of the wierdest names ever. I mean, seriously, how many kids do you talk to that's named after an anime character? Not many I think. But wait, these kids aren't just named after the character because the name 'is cool'. No, these names were chosen because of the poor child's appearance as well. At least it's slightly easier to cosplay.
