Alexis's POV
As I bring in the first of the boxes I peer around the living room. Wood floors, beige walls, and a couple dents in the roof from who knows what. Eugenia holds five boxes in her hands, wobbling side to side trying her best to balance. "A little help would be nice." She manages to say while completely out of breath. "Oh, sorry." I chuckle as I grab two of the five boxes and set them on the dusty counter. "Well, this is the most ghetto place I've ever imagined to live in." Eugenia scratches her neck. "It's perfect." I smile and start unpacking boxes.
Soon enough we have all the boxes into the small-ish apartment and we are laying on the hard floor staring up at the water stained ceiling. "What a piece of work this will be." Eugenia closed her eyes. "I think it will be everything I imagined it to be." I rolled on my side and imagined our new life in the city. Traffic, busy people, everything anyone would imagine from a life in the city. I was always one to "get what I get" after my mother died my father became stressed out and couldn't pull away from work. My mother left behind simple "treasure maps" for me to follow.

I've always tried my best to fill my mothers place to make my dad happy but I knew everyone has someone to be, so unfortunately I could NEVER fill my mothers place. But soon my father found a women who was friendly but a feisty woman at heart. Her name is Wendy and she eventually became my step mom. And yes, I know, in every movie the step mom is evil but I can't put into words how she has saved this family. It's like she was the missing piece to our broken puzzle.
I rested my eyes for a few minutes until Eugenia woke me up telling me it was 4:30 and we had barely made a dent in our new house so we began hanging clothes into the closet, pulling chairs up to counters, and we even were able to hook up our small VCR to watch while we were sleeping on the air mattress tonight. Oh what and adventure awaits.
