I walked cautiously across the glass littered streets that shone like glaring eyes in the light of the burning hole in the sky. I looked up to find comfort in the clouds, but there were none: nothing but a sky the colour of damson berries. My ears filled with the sound of hissing as I passed a broken air vent spewing intoxicating smoke towards me, like a snake spitting venom. I ran on. The air was thicker here than at home, it was an unpleasant feeling, it was like I was choking. As I was running, I stumbled over an old speaker and as it moved, it uncovered a newspaper with the date ' June 20th 2030': I was a long way from home! Suddenly a thought occurred to me... Why was I here, and what was I meant to do!?!
I turned a corner, stole down an alley way, passed an abandoned warehouse, and arrived in what looked like a town centre. Looming over me was a skyscraper that disappeared into the sky. Pasted over the face of the building was a poster, a poster of a person I knew, a person I knew very well... It was a poster of me...
Then I remembered, as if a light had been switched on in the darkness inside my head, why I was here, and why it was ME here and not someone else.... I had to save the world!! And that is because I was the one who ended it. . .
