Tom was getting impatient.

A quick look at the clock told him it was getting late. He'd been expecting Toasty over an hour ago but up till now he had yet to show up.

This depressed him. He'd spent all evening getting the preparations done. Confronted with the possibility that all this work would go to waste, Tom continued to empty the bottle of wine he'd set aside for the night.

Three hours later, Tom was well drunk. He'd given up on Toasty hours ago and had since turned his mind to what he'd do to the man when he eventually appeared.

Completely engrossed in his thoughts, Tom didn't notice the sound of the car pulling up.

Toasty had arrived.

A few minutes later, Tom realised this. Even drunk he could tell that something in the room had changed.

From his place on the love seat, the aroma of Toasty's cologne was obvious to him.

Tom looked up to see Toasty walk in. His magnificent monobrow dominated a face that held a look of worry as he looked upon Tom.

"You're drunk, aren't you?", Toasty said. A hint of regret could be heard in his voice.

"Of course I'm drunk! Where the hell have you been", Tom spat back.

Toasty lowered his head, his magnificent monobrow creasing in shame.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realise the lunch meeting would take so long. I knew you were waiting for me but there was no way to speed things up. The others..."

"Liar!"

Tom threw his empty wine glass at Toasty. It smashed on the floor, throwing pieces of glass all around the room.

"You weren't worried about that at all! All you ever talk about is 'Work this and Work that'! You've never cared about me! What about my needs?! What about them?!", Tom screamed at Toasty.

Toasty lifted his head and looked at Tom. He could clearly see the tears of anger as they rolled down Tom's face.

His face suddenly hardened, the magnificent monobrow growing taut.

"You're right. I've never cared about your needs. Until now."

In one smooth motion, Toasty closed the distance between him and Tom. He grabbed the man by the arm and pulled him closer, crushing their bodies together.

"What...what are you...", Tom stammered.

"What I should have done a long time ago."

Toasty looked Tom in the eye and kissed him.
