I sniffed the air, trying to get the scent of at least 1 elk herd. Come on! I think to myself. I haven't eaten for days and my stomach was begging for food. Then, a familiar scent filled my nose. At last! I follow the scent into a forest. I could just taste the elk in my mouth. I spotted the herd, grazing at the grass at the corner of my eye. The Bull elk was eating too, lifting his head up every once in a while to ensure safety. Don't want to mess with him I thought to myself. If a kick from a cow elk can break a wolf's skull, who knows what a Bull elk can do to you.

Suddenly, I smelled the scent of blood in my nose. I looked at the elk herd, trying to find the weak one. A hah! There it was. The delicious looking elk right before my eyes. I wasted no time. I ran right into the herd. Usually the weak elk would run away- and that's exactly what they did. I ran after the weakling. Being the fastest wolf in my old pack, made me a great Hunter. Although my strength and stamina aren't as great, at least I can still manage to get a few bites at the rump before slowing down to regain my stamina.

The cow elk whimpered as I bit it's rump. Now it was about turn around and fight with all its got. Just one last bite.. I thought to myself. As it turned, I jumped at its neck and wouldn't let go. It's a technique my father taught me. Bite it on the neck and don't let go until it stops whimpering. I struggle to hold on while the elk tried to kick me off. At last, the elk collapsed.

"Food!" I squealed like a fan girl. I started to eat like a wolf that wasn't eaten for 2 weeks- because I am.

My name is Eclipse. I am a all black, male grey wolf born in Yellowstone National Park two years ago. I left my birth pack to venture out on my own a s a lone wolf in search of a mate.

YAY!!! This is my first story to publish and I hope you guys like it! I will be updating it soon! I do not own the picture of the wolf though... Credit to Afrikaan Dreams on DeviantArt
