Alex's POV

"Don't kill me! We're on the same team here!" Ryan yells.

I laugh as I shoot anyway. Ryan's eyes go wide like they couldn't believe what I had just done.

"Sorry bro, I had to." I pat his back as I continue to play. He drops his controller and lays back on the couch.

"You are the actual worst. We were doing so well." Ryan whines.

"Oh stop being a baby, you were dead weight." Jay replies with a snort. "You suck at this game."

It was true, Ryan was terrible at Call of Duty. He could play other games a little better. Even though he's the one who had the most free time to play. We all had actual jobs to do even if we were all pretty wealthy, we still acted like normal people.

"Hey, Alex, have you seen who moved into your neighbours house?" Jay asks as he shoots at something on screen.

"No, why?" I reply.

"They've been there a week and you haven't seen them?" Ryan gasps dramatically.

"I've seen the mom, maybe?" I say slowly.

"You need to pay more attention." Jay huffs.

"They all actually came in the middle of the night! My brother went out to help, not me!" I reply in my defence.

"You let Jackson get first dibs on the girl?" Ryan groans.

"Girl? What girl?" I frown in confusion. "The little one who used her chalk on our driveway? That's okay, Jackson can have her."

"No. That's the girls little sister." Jay snorts.

"How do you know this?" I glance over.

"We live on the same street, and I actually pay attention to things. But this girl— total goodie two-shoes. Super polite, dressed as the good girl, acts better than a good girl, the way she is with her sister and mom, I mean wow. Even her brother, I mean they seemed a little tense but still." Jay whistles.

"Are you stalking them?" I shoot at things on screen.

"No. Mom made me drop off the welcome basket and the mom, Jen, invited me in." Jay smirks.

"You see the girls room?" Ryan asks playfully.

"No, but I know it's the one with the window kind of across from Alex's." Jay smirks. "You might get a little sneak peak."

"Shut up Jay." I say, quitting the game after checking the time.

"C'mon man, the girl is hot!" Jay exclaims. "She's small, but damn, she's fine."

"I said shut up." I whine, picking up my backpack. "My mom will be pissed if I don't get home in time for dinner. Jay, your mom will too. Come on!"

"The girl is hot," Ryan adds. "Ran into her at the grocery store. You shouldn't of let your brother get dibs. Any way, see you two tonight."

I roll my eyes and head out, not wanting to hear anymore. I had only seen the little girl in their family, she was drawing with chalk on my driveway and made a big flower. I admittedly sat with her for a while. It was fun. Though, I hadn't learned names.

Ryan's house was only a few blocks away from mine and Jay's, easy to walk to. And it's closer to where we work, so we go there after our shifts.

Although, first day of school is tomorrow. First day of grade twelve. We quit our summer jobs for school. School sucks, but it's my last year stuck in this hell hole before I'm free in university or college or wherever I choose to go.

I say a quick bye to Jay and walk into my house. I head to my room and pack my kickboxing bag, changing into sweats and a white tshirt. I tie a white bandana around my head before going downstairs for dinner. Moms just putting food on the table as I walk in.

"On time as always." She smiles and kisses my cheek.

"Of course mom." I smile back and sit down. Jackson comes in shortly after, sitting down across from me.

"So, have you met our neighbours yet Alex?" Mom asks as we start to eat.

"Nope." I reply smoothly.

"Alex!" Mom scolds. "You should be more social."

"I'm plenty social, just not interested in meeting them yet." I shrug.

"Arya is going to your school. Grade twelve too." Jackson informs.

"Arya...?" I raise an eyebrow.

"That's her name. The older girl who lives next door. Her older brothers name is Adrian, her moms name is Jen and her little sisters name is Addison." Jackson informs.

"How old is Addison?" I smile.

"Four." Jackson replies. "An exact little replica of Arya."

I nod, finishing my dinner. "I'm going out, I'll see you guys tomorrow morning." I say. I grab my bag and go to my motorcycle. I start it up and head to the club.

I pull up at the back, considering I wasn't actually going into the club bit. I take my helmet and keys in with me and head upstairs where the kickboxing stuff actually was. The bouncer lets me past right away, knowing me quite well. I put my bag down and realize Ryan and Jay weren't here yet. Might as well grab a drink before they get here.

I head downstairs where loud music is playing and girls are dancing and guys are trying to pick someone up. The smell of sweat, too much perfume and alcohol are heavy in the air. A normal night here.

I go to the bar and grab a beer. Maybe I'm a little younger than legal age, but I really could care less. I tilt my head as suddenly there's lots of cheering at the dance floor. A group of people clustering together.

Curiously, I walk over, pushing past people to see what they were looking at. This girl was dancing in the middle. Good dancing too. Not the stripper kind of dancing most girls pull off here. It was good, sure sexy too, but good.

What was almost as interesting as her dancing, was that she had a skull bandana wrapped around her face so only her eyes showed. The skull was of a nose and mouth, covering her own. She had a plain white cap hat on with her blonde hair pulled through in a ponytail. She had on green cargo pants, worn white sneakers and a grey sports bra with a purple coloured crop top over it. Though the crop top didn't cover much considering it moved with her moves.

I can't help but be enticed, she's amazing, and even though I can only see her eyes, I can tell she's gorgeous.

Her eyes fall on me and I swear she smirks, I can see it in her eyes. Her body moves easily to the beat and the whole time she keeps her eyes on me as I watch her. When the song ends, people cheer and crowd in. I try to find her, but she gets lost in the people and then she just... Disappears.

I sigh and walk back upstairs. Ryan and Jay are here now, getting themselves warmed up. But I just want to know who that girl was in the club.
