It was dark and the busy main road seemed to stretch for miles. The street lights shined and shimmered as they guarded the wide concrete line. I rushed past the restaurants and clubs quickly before I was noticed. The noise from one of the clubs was so loud it was deafening, just as I passed the illuminated club a broad yet small body came crashing into me. I was expecting a drunk bad mouthed perve but instead I was pleasantly suprised.
"Shit, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to...ugh." He scratched the back of his neck as he got up. He sighed. "I'm sorry." He reached out his hand for me to grab which I gladly accepted.
"It's fine, don't worry about it." I smiled and patted down my lap.
I was too busy trying to get up that I didn't see a complete image of his face until now. He had beautiful blue eyes, they were the type of eyes that you would think were photoshopped. His hair was a long dirty blonde that had been flipped to one side of his head, his lips were small but a fresh pink raspberry colour.
"What's your name?" He broke my inspection.
"Summer." I didn't need to ask his. I knew that blonde hair from anywhere, the way it hung in loose waves and knots and fell perfectly over his face. "Dougie?" I raised one eyebrow and smirked.
I knew Dougie quite well, I can't believe I didn't know it was him until now. We use to go to primary school and high school together in Essex. He was always a bit different and didn't really fit in anywhere. We were best friends for years, we were both quite similar in what we liked, we both were skateboarders, we bother breaded lizards, both loved pop punk music and we both were a little weird.
"Oh my fucking hell." He laughed. "Summer! Bloody hell."
I hadn't seen him since he dropped out of high school and joined mcfly and they were huge now so there was no way I could get in contact with him.
He grabbed both of my arms and shook me. "I'm so stupid, you look so different! You look great!" He laughed and pulled me into a tight hug.
I laughed back and then pulled myself out of his grip. "So how's jaz? Your mum? How's everyone? It's been like 12 years!"
"I know, bloody hell this is crazy." H laughed. "Everyone's fine. Mums great and jazzy is just as jazzy as ever." He chuckled.
"Good! How's the band going?" I smiled, I was a bit hurt when he left me alone at school and went of to join mcfly. We always stuck together and fought of all the bullies but when he left, I was all alone.
He sighed. "Good, really good. Been together for 12 years and things are still going pretty good. Just finished mcbusted because busted got back together so that means they'll be more to come for mcfly." He smirked. "I'm sorry about leaving you though. I know how hard high school must of been in those last few years."
I avoided his eyes contact. "It's fine, no big deal."
"Well summer, I really should go. The boys are waiting for me back at my place."
"How come you were in a club then? You don't even drink."
"I know, the club wanted me to do some modelling in there for a billboard or whatever but it wasn't really my scene."
"Oh, I always knew you were gonna be a model." I laughed.
His grin grew wider and there was no where for his pearly whites to hide. "Can I get your number so we can catch up properly over coffee or something."
"Sure." I nodded.
He passed me his phone.
"I really want to know all about what you've been up to and what happened after I left school." He generally looked so excited to find out about my life. "You always went on about how you were going to go travelling when you left, did you?"
"You should go and maybe you'll find out over coffee sometime." I passed him his phone and grinned at him.
"Ok." He laughed. "I'll see you soon summer, it's been great seeing you again." He gave me a big hug and then disappeared down the empty street.
