Social Casualty (Luke Hemmings)

Prologue

                        Background

  Katerina Michaels was not that tall, had long straight dark brown hair that had a touch of blond in it, pretty pail skin, and big big blue eyes. She had a group of friends that consists of  Hazel, Kaylee, Jasmine, and Scarlett.

  About two years ago Katerina and Luke were a 'Thing' so to say, but all good things must come to an end. Luke was one grade ahead of Katerina, Luke and Katerina had ended things and Katerina was heartbroken. One year had passed, they talked but then lost connection when he got a girlfriend named Carli. Two years has passed and Luke had texted Katerina.

                  Katerina's POV

  It was a Friday in January the 8th to be exact, it was after school about 3:05. I was at Subway because I went there after school to eat. I had just got done ordering my sandwich and I felt my phone vibrate, I pulled it out of the pocket of my skinny jeans. As I pulled it out I looked at the screen it was a face book message and it was from Luke Hemmings out of curiosity I answered.

L-Luke K-Katerina
L: Hey
K: Hey
L: Do you hate me?
K: Why would you think that?
L: Can you please just answer my question
K: No I don't hate you to be honest I thought you hated me
L: I thought you did
K: do you hate me?
L: No
K: Can I ask you something?
L: yeah
K: Why did you think that I hated you like there has to be a reason?
L: I didn't know
K: Well we should talk more I miss talking to you
L: Same lol
K: Lol I have to go right now but I'll text you later
L: Okay lol text me my number is (740) 123-4567 (authors note: don't call or text that number because I made it up)
K: Okay
And with that I ended the conversation for now I saved his number in my phone and the payed for my sandwich then left as I went home to eat. Some time had passed and I didn't have anything to do so I decided to text Luke

L-Luke K-Katerina
K: Hey it's Katerina
L: Hey
K: wrud
L: Nm u
K: Same I'm so interesting I know
L: Same lmao😂
K: So what's been going on in your life?
L: Well single now😊
K: Oh that's always fun
L: I finally got away form that crazy idiot 😂
K: Who Grace?
L: No Carli
K: Oh someone told me that you and grace were together and I wasn't sure anyway I'm sorry about your breakup
L: I'm not😂😂
K: then I'm happy for you lol😂
L: lol😂😂😂
K: what are you up to lately
L: not crap u
K: Same😘
K: whoops wrong emoji I meant 😂
L: 😂😂
K: 😬
L: it's fine
K: okay😂😂😂
L: lol😂😂😂
I went over to Hazel's later that night and I showed her the messages "Well I think he likes you." Hazel stated, I responded "What makes you think that?" "Well don't you think that it is a bit odd that he just texted you out of the blue and then he mentions that he's single? I rest my case." Hazel claimed and she had a very very good point, but after all we did just start talking so I'm not gonna dive into anything, that was my mistake last time. Later on I decided to text Luke again, gosh I hope I don't sound clingy.

K: Hey
L: Hey
"You know what, why don't you FaceTime him?" Hazel suggested
"I guess I could ask if he wants to FaceTime." I responded
K: Do you want to FaceTime
L: sure
I clicked on his contact and then pressed the FaceTime icon, then I just waited for Luke to accept it. Sure enough he did and I that moment he looked better than I remembered.
"Hey" Luke said with his deep thick accent "hey" I said in my little small voice "Nice stuffed animal." He stated referring to the one on the shelf behind me "It's not mine I'm at Hazels and its her sisters." I stated he flipped the camera and reviled that he too was not alone, he was with like 5 other boys. "These are my homies." He stated as he moved the camera around "This is my Hazel." I said while moving the camera to where it was on Hazel "Who's Hazel?" Luke asked  "Hazel has been my best friend since I was in like kindergarten." I replied "I thought I was your best friend?" He stated "If he thinks that he is your best friend then he must be hallucinating." Hazel stated low to where I could hear it but Luke couldn't. "I guess you could be my best guy friend, if you wanted to." I said "That will work." Luke said then as time went on we decided to end the call and the texted me somewhere through the night and Hazel and me watching say yes to the dress.
L: Hey
K: Hello

Later on Hazel put on Lord of the Rings and we were watching it, Around 3 A.M. and we were getting ready to go to bed then Hazel broke the silence "Girl I swear if he texts you at like four and is all like 'What are you doing' I am gonna get on your phone and be like she's sleeping like you should be and then I'm going back to bed." I laughed at what she had said because all night she was saying how tired she was and so it made since that she would do that, then again she is Hazel and she really doesn't need reason for what she does.

  I went to bed thinking about Luke and why he really thought I hated him because 'I didn't know' really wasn't an answer I was wanting. I decided that I would text him tomorrow, after all what did I have to loose.
