There was gypsy music playing in an alley.
"Honestly brother why do you have to steal??" whispered Simon."Because i'd rather me get caught from stealing from peddlers and go to jail,than our people starve.." Evan replied with a bit of annoyance in his voice as he was handing out bread.
There was a few minutes of silence between the two but it was broken by Simon.
"do me a favor then?.." Simon said quickly looking down.
"And what would that be,brother?" Evan replied."....take me with you next time you go out" he said looking at Evan with a look of seriousness.
Evan just started laughing hysterically,and stopped after a few moments."you- ha ha hehe,No." Evan said.Simon was in shock due to his brother just completely shut him down.
"WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT I'M GOING WITH YOU!!" Simon yelled at the top of his lungs."shh,quiet down or you're going to wake up everyone" Evan just glared at Simon shaming him.
The only real reason he didn't want Simon to go was because he didn't want to loose the most important person in his life.
"...how about i think about it?.." Evan said with a sigh.Simon just looked at him and smiled then walked off talking to some of the village people
."Simon?..how could i take the person i care about most with me to such a dangerous place?..." he mumbled under his breath.
No longer wanting to look and talk to people Evan decided to go to his tent and rest.While walking over heard a conversation about him and his brother.
"Can you imagine if those two get caught? oh oh,even turned in by one of us?.."the man cloaked by darkness whispered
"Imagine the reward money,imagine us actually moving away from these....savages" the other voice said.
As much as Evan wanted to grab these two and reveal them,he decided not to and keep his head low for the next few days.He just continued on to his tent.
"Brother,slow downnnnnnn for I can catch up!!!" the figure of his little brother huffing and puffing came up next to him."phew... i thought you'd keep walking..." Simon said barely catching his breath."can i ask you something?" he said looking up at Evan and tilting his head
"You know you can,little brother." Evan said just glancing down at Simon smiling,wishing Simon would always remain this small.
"when are we going to go get food?When are we going to get black clothes? when are we-" Simon said before he was cut off by Evan.
"Whoa there,hold those questions for when I actually decide to take you,little one" Evan said coldly"i want you to be strong enough,fast enough to handle those guards in case you get caught"he said sounding like a elder.
"B-But i am strong"Simon starting to shiver,and posing with his hands on his sides and his chin up.
"...little brother..i wish you were of age.."Evan said looking at him dipping his head as he spoke.
Simon just looked at Evan and sighed with tears in his eyes.."how about we sleep on it big brother?.." Simon said with his voice cracking slightly.Evan just nodded as they finally reached their tent."good night" they both said as they lay down.
