When I was younger, my mom used to tell me stories about creatures. There were the nice ones... And of course the bad ones. My mom would have this look in her eyes, as if the stories were real. But as a child I believed they were fairy tales. My mother would always finish the sentence with "And they lived happily ever after." But... Something told me otherwise. When my mom died when I was 8, I was shocked. I didn't understand the fact that my life was at stake. That they were after me. I had no one else to rely on but myself after her death, and the thought of having no one terrified me. My young self was scared, so after my mother's death I stayed at the only place I knew. Our quaint 1 story, two bedroom home in the gentle woods of Arcadia. But I would soon learn it was a big mistake.
My room was dark and my head was spinning as I tried not to focus on the creepy noises from outside. "Its just wind, calm down."
