I sit against the wall in the safe room, out of bullets, out of will, and out of energy.
I hope Maxon's alright. He was wearing a bulletproof vest though. He wasn't actually shot. I think to myself. I begin crying, sobbing.
"Maxon! Maxon!" I scream. "If you live," I whisper, "I'll let you call me your dear. I promise."
Hours went by, I think. It was near impossible to tell the time, because there were no windows, or clocks. Only a small bench, a bucket, a sink, and some shelves with blankets, and a few cans of food.
I had almost fallen asleep, when I heard beeping noises, and then the door opened. I looked up, and saw Gavril standing there with six guards behind him. I put up the gun, even though it had no bullets, but they didn't have to know that, and they all backed off.
"Lady America! Don't shoot! Your safe now. Your safe. I promise." Gavril yelled slowly creeping up. I nodded and dropped the gun. The guards came and helped me stand up. They lead me down the hall, and took a left. We were heading to the Great Room.
"Lady America, we hav-" Gavril was cut off by the rebel alarm. Why is it on now? Was there another attack? Will they ever stop? I looked around with a confused expression.
"Go go go go!" I heard a guard shout. I began to run, with two guards behind me. I wonder where Gavril and the other four went.
I heard a gun shot, and then another. I looked around to see me running by myself, and two rebels chasing after me. I ran faster.
One rebel caught up to me, and yanked on my arm, pulling me down. I fell, hard. Getting large rug burns, and my head slamming against the wall. I screamed, and the rebel pointed his gun at me. I couldn't find enough air in my lungs to scream, again so I just sat there, eyes wide with terror. Another gun shot went off, and I thought I was dead.
Suddenly, the rebel body fell on top of me, and I was quickly being covered in blood. I shoved the body off of me, my dress now ripped, stained, smudged, and completely ruined.
"Run Lady America! Go!" I looked back to see the guard that saved my life. I couldn't see his face.
I ran down the hall as fast as I could, my knees and elbows burning. I went into the first room I saw.
