Natalie used to often wonder what would have happened if she never left?
Would she have gotten married and lived peacefully?
Would she have died a painful death in a association to the club?
It's not like life outside of Charming was grand now.
8 years ago she left her family. The club. She often thinks of them.
She thinks of them more so now that she'll be returning in the wake of my mothers death.
Now she is troubled and worried that they only think thoughts of hatred.
That they only think of her has a has-been. That she never existed. Exiled.
She left in thinking the club was what killed her father. Natalie's father was one of the First 9. Now she realizes that whilst the club may have been a sliver of the reason as to how he died, it wasn't the cause of his death. The official autopsy had said he OD'd on cocaine and heroine. But it was his greed and selfishness that really killed him.
Her mother never recovered and she soon became an alcoholic following his death. She used to blame the club for that too. Then she realized that was her mothers' doing, not theirs. Ultimately the drinking is what killed her. She died from liver cancer.
She used to think of Gemma as her other mom. Sometimes she still does. Jax and Opie were her best friends. She regrets leaving them with no explanation.
Natalie left to get away from the tragedy that followed her everywhere she went in Charming. To get away from the painful reminders. To leave behind the truth and try to forget.
She moved to Vegas, left the day after graduation and studied to become a nurse. She was plagued by hardships then too. At first, it was hard. Then she learned to forget.
But being the only living relative her mother had when she died, She was practically forced to back into Charming.
Natalie has to go back to Charming and plan her funeral. She has to go back to place she's been running from.
By tomorrow these fears and worries will be figured out in going back to Charming.
------------------------------------------------------
As Natalie was packing her car, she realized that realistically she was probably never coming back to Vegas. She loved this place but like they say there's no place like home.
Home. It's been a while since she's been able to freely say that without feeling sorrow.
She closed the car door, looked around her place one last time and said her goodbyes. Natalie was getting her childhood home from her mother. Before everything changed, her dad used to always promise her that this house and being apart of the clubs family was her namesake.
After she left, Natalie had long since forgotten about it. As she's driving to Charming all of her old feelings are starting to come up.
------------------------------------------------------
After a 7 hour drive, she drove up to the house. It was dark out already so she figured she might as well begin unloading her stuff into the garage.
She stepped into the house and was greeted by a complete disaster. There was trash everywhere and a putrid smell. She walked over to the end table by the couch and found a plate with rotten food. She grabbed one of her suit cases and brought it upstairs into her old room. The room looked like it had never been touched since she left. She set her suitcase down and walked over to her "wall of memories". A picture of Natalie, Jax and Opie at the Carnival was the first one she noticed. Another was with Clay and Gemma. She smiled and laughed at the one of her and her dad when she was 14 making funny faces at the camera. It actually felt good being back at home.
Natalie's first thought is "wow I have my work cut out." She immediately began changing into loose clothing to begin working in the kitchen and living room.
------------------------------------------------------
It was about 7 pm when Natalie finished. The house, once you cleaned up the mess, actually wasn't in bad shape.
She figured since she hadn't eaten since 7 when she left this morning, she might as well order some pizza.
As she's driving, her brake lights came on. Fuck, she completely forgot TM was the only garage in town. Turns out she'll be seeing the club sooner than planned.
She returned home, ate some of the pizza and began looking for any job openings for nurses. The only place that had any openings was St. Thomas.
Her moms' caretaker notified her the funeral was already taken care of and that it would be on Sunday, 2 days from now. Since she's going to TM, she might as well invite the club to the funeral.
It was nearing 12, so Natalie headed for bed. Her last thought was "I hope everything turns out okay tomorrow."
