The bell rang at 2:15. I reached down to get my bag and head out the door. I was anxious to get out of the school and go to rehearsal. I got the part I wanted in the Spring Musical so I was happy. But after rehearsal, I was headed to Andy's to practice our spotlight dance. Tori screwed me over by decided he would be my escort so I got stuck dancing with my previous crush.
When I got to rehearsal, I was immediately put to work with choreography, musical training, and more. I had no idea how I was going to take this for the next three months but I didn't have a choice. Song after song, my throat started to hurt so I took a break and got some water. It wasn't good to sing so much at once so I needed breaks in between each song or two. Chroeography was just insane, having to learn to do a split, back flips and a triple pirohuette was not easy but had to be done.
Finally, practice was over and I was on my way to Andy's. The walk to his house was long and tiring but worth it to improve my dance at my Sweet 16. I walked up to his front door when I got to his house and rang the door bell. Within minutes, the door swung open to reveal a familiar face in the doorway.
"Hey Bell", he greeted.
"Hey Andy. Ready to practice?", I replied.
"Yep". With that, he opened the door wider to let me in and we went into his living room.
He played the music for our dance and walked up to me. We'd been practicing for months. The party was this saturday. This was our last rehearsal. So, he looked into my eyes, took my hand and draped his opposite arm around my waist and pulled me close. Then we started to waltz. I could've sworn he was smiling but I wasn't. We had to be serious.
When the song was over, we high fived and when I tried to pull my hand away, he kept holding it. I just looked at him as if to say "what are you doing". He was looking right into my eyes. Then he pulled my waist closer to him and we startd dancing again. No music. No rhythm. Just us to the beat of each others' hearts.
At that moment, I knew that my crush was still my crush and that was that.
