A Twist of Fate

"I'm not taking anything to class it's not like we're doing work" I told to Bree.

"Olivia, you never know what mr. Martinez will make us do, he could be the teacher to assign us an essay the day before graduation" she joked.

I grabbed a spiral and a pencil and considered myself ready for my last day of school. As walked down the hall I thought of the memories I had gathered here. High school was pretty good to me, I had good grades, friends, I was good at sports. It was all I could ask for.

Well almost

I was 18 and what everyone called a short fuse, I didn't have an anger problem or anything, my timer was just coming near. When you are born you are given a watch, only this watch doesn't tell you what time it is. The watch tells you the exact second you will meet your "soul mate". At the beginning of my last semester of school I decided to try to keep my watch hidden from eyes. I wore long sleeved shirts, bracelets galore, and turned the watch upside down while I got dressed. The last time I saw my watch was a few weeks ago. I had one month twelve days and thirteen hours until my fate would be chosen for me. The time was relatively near now and I feared losing my independence and all I had known.

We walked into class and like I assumed, we did nothing. Mr. Martinez turned on a movie for us and told us we could have our phones. While Bree talked to her boyfriend, which I found irrelevant because she knew he wasn't the one, I continued my thoughts about my future love. I feel like I can hear him when I listen hard enough, like he's talking to me. I put in my earphones and began listening to they don't know about us. I began to put the thoughts of my watch away and let myself sink into the words promised by One direction.

My parents gave me the best I gift I could ever ask for, for a graduation gift. I had tickets to a One Direction Concert, I would be in the seat so far away I would have to look at the screens but I wasn't going to complain.

Before I knew it the bell rang and I was leaving the school. Graduation would be tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited.
