I look around at all the muggles, my face covered in utter disgust. I was a pureblood and this? this was my birthright. I look at my ticket once more. I was eleven years old and they expect me to see myself off to school. My mother just dropped me off with a 'See you in a year'. Maybe it was so that I could grow up. After all, I had never done anything on my own before. "Hello Sir, I am looking for platform 9 3/4" I hear a small voice and turned to watch. "Are you daft boy? there is no platform 9 3/4" the train master all but yelled. The boy he was speaking to was shocked and started pushing his cart towards me. "Seriously, this is what passes for young wizards these days?" I laugh; the other boy was shorter than me and he was definitely weaker, definitely a loser. "I, uuhhhh..." he began to stutter. I sigh "Fine, follow me I'll take you." I kind of felt sorry for him but kind of didn't want to be caught talking to him. What will the others think?. "Name's Zayne, and you are?" I ask "Jackson." was all he said. "Alright Jackson now all you have to do is run into that wall, if you're brave enough" I smirk. He grins over at me and runs hard into the wall before disappearing into it. These dumb muggles didn't have a clue. I ran through the wall, it was dark for a moment and then a whole new platform appeared. "I don't care what your rules say, I am not getting on this train without my bag" I hear a girl yelling when I hand over my bag to a man in uniform. I glance over for a few seconds but I really couldn't see the girl's face through her dark hair. "Rules are rules, Mrs. Keddle. Either you give me the bag or no school of witchcraft for you." the baggage man responded to her. "I don't think you heard me correctly-" the rest of her response was cut off when I walked up the stairs and into the train.
I take a seat in an empty compartment, my eyes shut for an instant the door slides open. I open one eye, seeing Jackson sit down across from me. I shut my eyes again and start to drift off to sleep then the door opens again. I sit up and look at the girl who had been fighting with the baggage man earlier. I smile at her but then I heard a small yelp and the huge bag she was carrying flew into Jackson and my arms caught her before my brain could even catch on to what was happening. I looked down at her as she sat up and moved next to me "I am such a klutz sometimes. Sorry would you mind setting that underneath your seat?" she says. Jackson does what she says and looks at her like a puppy in love. "My names Catriona. My friends call me Cat, and you are?" she was looking at me. "Zayne or Z" was my only response "I'm Jackson" and there goes the puppy dog once again. "You're very strange, you have something on your face, just there" she pointed at her cheek where Jackson had a brown speck on his. "Anything from the trolley dears?" I saw an old woman at the door before I closed my eyes. "I'll pay for whatever she wants" Jackson's voice was heard. Puppy dog, just like I said. "Thank you, Jackson." Cat responded, the train started moving and I soon drifted off to sleep.
