ShikaIno :Courage:

Courage.

He honestly didn't even know how to word his feelings; he wasn't the 'I confess' type of guy. He's lazy, sarcastic and vague.

"Shika-kun! Can I come in?"

A knock was heard at his door followed by a sweet voice he knew all too well.

"Yeah."

"What took you so long Ino?"

The male Shikamaru Nara lazily replied while he scrolled through his phone on Tumblr. Ino Yamanaka sat own next to him and giggled as she lay next to him.

"I got distracted, my bad. How was 'The Talk' with your dad last night?"

Ino smirked at him, Shikamaru sat up and gently flung his phone on the bed next to him.

"UGH, It was so troublesome! Seriously though I'm not an idiot, he just loooved annoying me."

Shikamaru crossed his arms, a little blush stained his face while he looked at Ino play with her hair.

"He's just being a dad; I remember both my parents give me the talk. BOTH Shikamaru, I was so embarrassed."

"Tch."

Shikamaru yawned and couldn't help but to stare at Ino, she was beautiful and very bold to wear clothes that showed off her curves whenever she wanted.

"So what should we do today? There are no sales at the mall and most places are closing for the night."

Ino looked over at her friend and started tugging at the zipper on his sweater; she zipped and almost unzipped it over and over amusing herself.

"Well we could sit here and wait to die."

Shikamaru shrugged and looked down at Ino, his pupils looked lifeless.

"Thats pretty dark Ino spoke with a slight awkward chuckle."

"Oh you know, thats me."

Ino looked up at him and watched him pick at his sock. She frowned and slowly sat up, crossed her legs and took his hands in hers. She waited for him to look at her, not a 'what' look a 'I'm listening' look.

"You okay Shika?"

"Yeah, just being a teenager sucks you know the usual."

Shikamaru half smirked at her reassuring her it wasn't the worst he's dealt with.

"You seem a little more harsh than usual."

Ino spoke softly, concerned.

"Oh you know the 'I like a girl and she doesn't even notice it', blah blah blah."

Ino smiled at him.

"Have ya asked her on a date? Or even mentioned to her you got a crush? I know you're not the type to just be so bold but come on."

Shikamaru's head remained tilted down but his eyes focused on her. He looked into her eyes as he raised his head and took a deep breath out. He just stared. She blushed.

"What?"

Finally it clicked in the blonde's brain.

"OH....Okay...."

Shikamaru felt his heart pounding like crazy; he knew he was going to be rejected.

"Hey how come you never told me?"

Shikamaru sighed.

"Were best friends Ino...Aren't I friend-zoned for life?"

Ino blinked a couple times slowly.

"No. I never really pictured us in a dating sort of thing but I've defiantly come across the fact that some day you might try to get with me.

Ino finger gestured at 'get with' to signify sexual relations.

"Is that how you think of me?"

Shikamaru raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"No, I think of you as funny, jerkish, loyal and just....Great."

Shikamaru blushed, he tried to hide a smile but it broke so he laughed awkwardly. Ino put her hand on Shikamaru's face.

"Are we okay? Do we need to talk about some things?"

Ino's hand went from his jaw to his shoulder and down to his hand, she slightly held it.

"Would you date me? Would you let me cop a feel or even be embarrassed if people heard things about us?"

"Whoa, okay uh. I wouldn't mind dating you, to be honest I would rather just fool around right now cause relationships are hard for me...And no, I wouldn't care it would be like NONE of their business but it's not like I would freak out."

This was a lot for Shikamaru to process, something like Shogi or battle plans was easy to him but it was hard when it was about feeling with Ino.

"I uh. Yeah. Okay well I like you and yeah I could wait for a relationship, I'm not surprised you're not interested in one right now. It's actually a really huge relief that you're at least not disgusted with me n stuff..."

Ino laughed, Shikamaru chuckled with her and leaned in for a kiss. Ino didn't move, she closed her eyes just as his lips pressed against hers. Ino blushed and held his hand more; Shikamaru slowly leaned out like he was hypnotized.

They smiled at each other.

This isn't my regular type of writing style, I cannot share my favourite pieces since they are not appropriate for the sites rules and restrictions but I do think this is pretty cute.

Shikamaru and Ino are two characters I write about 75% of the time so be prepared for that. lol.
