I never understood why girls have to be princesses and boys are vikings.

Our class are having a party,my teacher said that girls should dress like a princess and boys should wear like a prince.I was running to get to my party because I'm really late.I was wearing the boys outfit when I go into my party.when I got to our meeting place,all my classmates were looking and laughing at me..maybe it's because of my outfit [is it boring??]
