As Rose touched the window lightning flashed a bright beam struck down on Main Street.Grabbing her teddy she sings her moms song. Swinging back and forth to the beat tapping her foot with the melody. " Why father why did mother have to leave us so soon?" Rose whispered softly
" She had cancer Rose there was nothing to stop it." Father said to her with a tear.
Rose stood up and walked to her father and hugged him. Both shedding tears they watched the Lightning struck. The storm rumbled and keep going for the day. " father don't you work soon down at the bakery?" Rose asked.
" I do but I can't leave you alone for that long I work all night." Father said.
"But dad I'm almost 13 I can stay home alone!" Rose said with a push.
"Oh fine then I guess I have to leave we have bills you now. But be good keep the house clean and don't let JJ out of his kennel" her father said with a huff. Rose stood up and hugged her dad goodbye, as he walked threw the wood door. Rose and her dad have been without there mother for about three years, they live in a farm house to stay warm.
The storm rolled in faster then Rose could ever think of. She hide in her room by JJ's kennel her German Shepard. JJ has served in the K9 unit for over 3 years. No more tell he was injured in crime searching shot right in the front leg. Since then none can come near him only Rose and her family. She can't have friends over or nothing.
