Calling Out

Chapter 1

Its been 1,000,000 years since humans last roamed the earth. At least we thought so. Now there is what we used to call myths. They make up the community, well them and one singualr human, Katie.

.Katie's P.O.V.

I woke up breathing heavily, tonight was a full moon the wearwolfs are out. Its about Moonhigh (12:00) right now and I'm wide awake, so I grabbed my backpack and started to get a move on.

I'm not quite sure where I go... I just roam the woods. No home, no shelter, and barley any food.

Then I saw them two gleaming eyes staring at me. The eyes start to move forward and I see that the shape is a... Bird, no, yeah... Bird person.

Bird person: A person that has wings and a tail it also shapeshifts into a full bird

"Hello" I said my voice a bit shaky. The bird figure just stared at me some more.

Finally it spoke "y-you can't be here" it squaked

My green eyes widened "why..." I said backing up

The bird person shook her head "I'm seeing things, you can't be here your dead" it muttered to itself

I sighed "thanks for that" I said sarcastically

The bird laughed/squaked "I mean your extinct" she said just then we heard snarls of warewolfs "come with me" she rasped

I started hyperventilating. Then I felt feathers touch my shoulder

"You can trust me" She said starting to run the opposite direction of the Wolfs.

She flew up to a tree house and I just stared at her. "How am I..." I cut myself off and saw the tree had vines I grabbed ahold of a sturdy one and started to climb. When I was at a safe height I looked down and saw the wolfs. Many different coat colors, teeth bared into a snarl, and yellow gleaming eyes.

The bird looked at me "common" she squaked gesturing for me to climb more

I climbed the rest of the way and made it to her platform "you know, I never did catch your name" I said in between breaths

She smiled "Alex" she said "and yours?" She asked

"Mine name is Katie" I said as she opened the door for me. I hesitantly walked in.

"So how are you, well you know still living?" Alex asked me

I sat on a chair of some sort and told her my story "I was locked in a special room no one could get me out only I had the key" I started "the day that humans were wiped out I was still in that box, and that box was indestructible. Finally I let myself out. I turned fourteen and never aged since then" I told her "so that's how I'm kinda here today" I laughed a bit

She nodded fascinated "so you never have day of birth celebrations?" She asked (also known as birthdays)

I shook my head "hey do you have any friends?" I asked looking around kinda wanting to stay secert.

She nodded "yeah, they don't lice with me though... Why?" She asked

'Boy does she ask many questions' I rubbed my eyes "Just I kinda stay a secert, only you should know" I said

She smiled and swayed back and forth "yay! I'm special!" She exclaimed

*knock knocky knock*

I hid under the table she lead me to a door "go out the door" she said and took off to go see who was at the entrance

I opened it silently and it looked like a balcony. A huge gust of wind came and slammed the door shut. I winced "oh, no" I whispered to myself

Just then a angel popped his head out the balcony door.

I gave a slight wave

Alex came running she looked over the angels shoulder "hi Katie, this is Bret" she smiled "he is a angel, Bret she is a well.."

I cut her off "human" I said shuffeling my feet on the wood. I looked at his white out-fit "any questions?" I asked

Bret just ended up fainting into Alex's arms.

.Bret's P.O.V.

I woke up on Alex's ground "I just had the weirdest dream" i said laughing "you were in it and then a huma...." I stared at this girl, this human girl.

She waved to me shooting me a warm smile "hi. Uh, yeah that dream was true" she said

I turned to Alex stunned she just shrugged

I sat in my favorite chair. "Okay so how are you here?" He asked. I heard her sigh and she started telling me the story...

I was astonished "indestructible, fourteen, wipeout" words raced through my mind like crazy. 'How is this even true' I thought 'she's the last one, how is it true?' I asked myself the question over and over again and it STILL didn't make any since.

.Katie's P.O.V.

I looked outside and the sky was crying again (raining).

Bret walked over to me and he put his hand on my shoulder "sorry about earlier" he chuckled "but Alex was wondering if you wanted something to eat... Or drink" he said

I nodded "yes that would be great" I replied

He walked over to Alex and back to me "so how is it like being around for 1,000,000 years?" He asked sitting down on the ground

I joined him and watched dthe rain "I dont remember much" I said and I tried to stick my tounge out in the rain but Bret pulled me back

He was shaking his head "this tree is poisonous" he said "if the rain drips off the leaves into you mouth... Let's just say humans would be extinct" he said

I widend my green eyes 'how did I not know this' I thought "thanks Bret" I said and sat back down

"Never a problem" he said smiling

"Foods ready!" Alex shouted from across the tree house.

Bret helped me up and we made our way to the table. I sat next to Alex and across from Bret.

Bret smiled at the food "thanks for the sycrowe" he said "I know its a hard plant to find" he added

I smiled "yes thanks" I said and started to eat the rare but delicious plant.
