*Finn POV*
The first thing I heard was the insistent beeping of the monitor. My eyes watered, from them being closed for so long.
"He's waking up!"
I heard a voice say. I was surprised that it wasn't Rey. It sounded boyish. I opened my eyes only to have a blurry vision. I felt someone hold my hand. The hand was callused and hard, yet soothing and welcoming. It wasn't at all like Rey's. She hated when I held her hand. But when I did, it was soft, and smooth, nothing like this hand.
"Hey buddy, it's gonna be all right, everything is going to be just fine."
This time, I recognized the voice. It was Poe.
"Poe..." I started to say.
"Don't talk, that'll only make it worse." He said.
My vision focused, and I could see him. His face, it looked like it had been through many sleepless nights. He hadn't shaven in awhile. But his eyes. His beautiful chocolate eyes. He was crying.
*Poe POV*
The first thing I heard was a small grunt. I took my head out of my hands and whipped my head around to Finn. Since Rey was of training to be a Jedi, she had asked me to watch after Finn while she was gone. I would have done it anyways though, so it didn't matter.
Finn's eyes twitched. He was waking up!
"He's waking up!" I yelled.
I found his hand, and squeezed. Please wake up Finn, please wake up.
"Hey buddy, it's gonna be alright, everything's is going to be just fine." I said, hoping he would hear me and wake up.
"Poe..." I heard him start.
"Don't talk, that'll only make it worse." I said.
His eyes were opened now. He was awake, and I was here for it. I had been waiting for this moment, the first to actually meet him...again.
*Finn POV*
Poe never left my side. When they were dressing my wounds, when they fed me, or when they changed me out of my clothes. Of course his back was turned. He didn't talk the whole time. He just stared at me. Well except for when I was changing.
When we were finally alone I asked,
"Where's Rey?"
Poe looked at me, intently, like he was trying to piece a puzzle together.
"She's gone. She's off training to be a Jedi, with Luke Skywalker. She wanted me to watch after you until you woke up." He said.
I nodded, taking it all in.
"Do you remember anything from...you know."
I nodded knowing exactly what he was talking about. The battle that I lost against Kylo Ren. I hadn't the slightest idea what I was doing. All I was trying to do was avenge Rey, only to get stabbed in the back. I don't know how I'm still alive. I should be dead. But I'm not.
*Poe POV*
I found myself wondering around the base that night again. It had become a habit of mine ever since the great battle on the Starkiller Base.
Seeing Finn alive today, it was amazing. My best friend and I, together again. Though I wasn't sure, I wanted to be his best friend. I know, he's an amazing person, and all though we've been through so little, it feels like we've been through a lot.
My feelings for Finn were confusing and yet not. I couldn't decide on how I felt. Was I going queer, for him?
