"Finch!" The silver she cat yowled. "Finch it hurts!" Finch reached for the pregnant cats stomach.
"Shhh" she whispered "it's okay river, just one left." She grabbed some scented herbs and put them next too River. "These will calm you" she spoke softly.
"This is wrong!" River started "I was a rouge, they aren't supposed to have kits, it's against Darkmoons la-" she was cut off with a screech.
"R-r-river!" Finch spoke. "He- he has pure black fur and the m-mark!" Finch stared in disbelief. River shot up. "What!" "Careful your wea-" "No! It can't be!" River interrupted. Two kits, a female tortishell with Amber eyes, and there was a midnight colour cat.
Grieve washed over river. "I can't take him back, they will kill the kits!" She wailed and nuzzles the young cats "finch what do I do?" "They won't harm the kits" she spoke so wise it surprised River. "We may be ruthless, but your mate is second to lead, he will make you take them away." She paused
"so do as I say, take them far away into the village, they will take them in" River looked grateful. " thanks so much!" She picked her kits up
"wait" Finch stopped her. "What's their names?" River thought about it for a few seconds. "For the Tom, firefly, and for the she cat, misty" Finch nodded "excellent choice!" She paused " Oh and good luck" River nodded and left the small den that sat on the highest branch of the tree.
The rest of them had the smell of herbs and spices *yes spices*
"You WHAT!" Anger growled through the red cats shriek "Robin, I-" but River was interrupted by Robins scorching words. "Get them out of my sight, you filthy fox!" Robin stared her down, his gaze was nothing more than a fire, scorching at Rivers tabby pelt. She stood weakly, with a blank expression plastered to her face. "Ever since I was a rouge, I wanted to have kits. Then k found this," she paused and snarled "This excuse for a healthy pride! At least I'm not black hearted like the rest of you are. Your all rouges, every single one of you!" Robin snarled at her "We accepted you, in return you had to hunt. Not laze around all day nursing your despicable kits! You never helped at all, I should have never chosen you as my mate!" River was taken a back. "H-how dare you" she stuttered " I did bring you something! Kits! A pure hero, at heart! This kit will live on to save us all, save us from this terrible pride!" There were no tears, just anger. She sighed and left, but turned before leaving her once "home" " This cat will live on, have the power of any God, and put all the misery too rest, while you will there causing blood to run down every river and very stream. This isn't the end, but it will be for your pride." With those wise words she carried her kits out the door. "You won't forget me, River, not until the day you die." He said clearly, but River took no notice of him, and quickened her pace. "But that won't be soon" he added as he turned to tell his leader, Beachwing the news. While you will be there, causing blood to run down every river and stream he remembered her words This isn't the end, but it will be for your pride. They stuck to him like sticky weed, clinging to his russet pelt.
River trudged through the snow, Firefly on her back and Misty on her jaws. 'We'll be there soon'. But she was lying to herself, the journey was tops of 1 and a half days. She couldn't stop to hunt, she was scared to ask people for food. She felt tired and scared of what might happen. Her paws ached for answers.
Her joints howled for rest.
But most of all, her stomach bellowed for food.
She had fed her kits before leaving, which was a good idea, but now she couldn't let them suckle, she would kill them if she did for the snow would freeze their paws off. All of a sudden Misty went very limp, she put her down on her paws, only to realise she wasn't breathing. "M-misty?" River stammered "Misty, g-get up!" River yowled! "No! Misty no!" Her eyes clouded "Why her!" Tears poured down her cheeks as she nuzzled her lifeless kitten. Firefly came closer and nuzzles his sister, only to let out a grieving cry. Firefly used his tiny paws to dig out some snow, to make a little grave, but River pushed him closer to her "My poor little baby, you'll freeze if we don't continue." As much as she wanted to stay, they had to go, or else they would both die. Quickly, River dug a grave and placed Misty in it. Tears of grieve swept over her "She was great, wasn't she, Firefly?" She turned to him, only to find more snow.Eyes widening she jumped up"Firefly! Where are you!" Her worried mew sent the tiny lot running back with a flower in his jaws. "Flower for Misty!" He mewed "She not here so I give flower!" River wiped her tears. She wrapped her paw over Firefly "I'm sure she's happy where she is now." She tried to stop herself from crying. Then when Firefly sneezed, she quickly brought him in her jaws. 'We better get going she thought', carrying her black kitten in her jaws "but I want stay Misy!" He protested. "You will always be with her" she reassured her kit 'just not me' she added in her head. She had decided to stay with her pride, she had to help them, otherwise there would be bloodshed on every tree.
