There it was: that stupid tree that always trips me up. It stared at me evilly, as if it had a face. I sigh, blowing my bangs out of my face. I was sitting directly across from the tree. I was sitting on a tree stump, eyeing my enemy. For some weird reason, I couldn't take my eyes off it.
Suddenly the ground started shaking underneath me. I stood up, alarmed. Holding onto a nearby tree, I started looking around for some sort of disturbance. The rumbling stopped just as suddenly as it came. I kept looking, scrambling around the bushes, trying to find the source of the noise, Eventually, I gave up.
"Sorry to disturb you!" a voice behind me exclaimed.
"Oh, so now you're speaking to me!" I rudely replied. I turn around, definitely not expecting a herd of horses behind me the whole time. I looked up and saw that there was nobody atop them.
Well, that was weird I thought climbing up a rope that was leading to a treehouse hidden in the trees, Eve thought this was a great place to put a house because you are away from danger and have the calm noise of the trees swaying. This is where she felt safe, home.
Suddenly out of nowhere:,
"Hey!" panted Talia, I fell back off the ladder and landed right at the roots of a tree, not just any tree my enemy. I got back to my feet dusting off the dirt on my clothing.
"Oh, hi" I said, sarcastically, with my shoulders crossed, "You could've knock--Ahhhhhhhh!!!" The tree lifted up the root I was standing on and catapulted me. I landed with a CRASH!
"Owwwwwww!" I dramatically cried, I stood up, again dusting off what now is three times the dirt on my clothes. I look round, there is glass everywhere. I even pick of glass in my hair, I soon realize that this treehouse is mine and suddenly noticing the window I crashed into,
"Oh, come on!, I just fixed that window from last time!" I moaned. We seriously need to install a doorbell, I pick up my backpack, and lifted up the trap-door that revealed the ladder. It was a long way down, Unhesitant I made my way down ignoring the mess I had made. Once I reached the bottom I straightened up my huge bun that held my huge hair.
First off let me tell you a little about myself, I am a tall, scrawny and skinny my head holds my bun with a hair band holding my bun so it doesn't like to fall off. I also have these annoying bangs that I have to consistently tuck behind my ears. My face, of course, has two eyes, a mouth, and a nose like a normal face should. I carry a back-sack that holds my trusty bow and arrow. Under this is my dusty brown jacket, pockets filled with nonsense and things that might come in handy. Oh, I also have a large dusty gold choker necklace covering my whole neck, and a pair of skinny jeans. Now back to the story.
"What happened to you?!" cried Talia, awe with shock.
"Oh, the usual" I replied sarcastically, as always.
"You mean, that tree agai...?" Talia stated.
"YES, that tree again!" I moaned annoyed.
"Hey!, Whats going on?" Greeted Kiara unaware of the conversation.
"Oh, the usual" I repeated.
"Does she mean that tree again?" mumbled Kiara to Talia.
"Yes, Now if you please listen we have a plan to make" I calmly replied. We walked down the hill to our secret hideout.
First Off let me tell you about Kiara and Tiara, Tiara likes to wear jeans and long sleeve T-shirt (anything that she is comfortable with) topped with a baseball cap she found, Her hair is stylish and long but as black as a raven, it is never styled but always down. Her skin is a lot more orange than others and tan. Talia is also the shortest of the group of three, Kiara following up second tallest. Talia carries a backpack full of resources (when we go on quests), followed by her bow and arrow's. Talia's talent is amazing she can sing really high and crack any glass with her voice!
Kiara always wears her signature denim shorts followed with dead black leggings and short-sleeved T-shirts, Her Hair is a shiny blonde that is always styled in a ponytail. Kiara has a lot of freckles (even between her toes!) and wears lots of bracelets and accessories on her arm. Kiara is good with acting, like I literally mean her power is that she can impersonate anyone and convince almost about anyone. Now Back to the story!
I looked around silence falls, all that to hear is the rustling of the trees, they were whispering to us. Our feet make a loud stomp against the soft grass that is spread out like a carpet. We immediately know what to do, we run over to a tree each and gently press our ear's against it, I feel the rough, hard bark of the tree,
"Be cautious, as there is bad luck in your steps ahead" My tree whispered "be careful who you trust" I couldn't hear the rest because of the large chatter in the background.
"We have to move, there are intruders near!" I mumbled loud enough so Kalia and Talia can hear under my breath. We move with no distractions to our hiding place. We come to an abrupt stop and bend down on our knees in front of a tree that looked that it had plenty to eat. We dug under one of the fat roots and press a button hiding, we quickly throw soil and dirt back on top of it and looks around for any nosy strangers. We walk back about a metre and a half precisely, After a few seconds you can whirring from a machine then an opening opened in front of us on the ground.
I look down where the opening is, a staircase leading down. I don't hesitate to lead us underground. there are lamps on either side of the dirty walls. We hear a distant chatter further ahead Until we reach an opening of a room. The room is bright from the lamps everywhere and people chatting about to one another.
