Wind nipped at the few golden hairs strung upon my shoulders as a feeling of glee upon anxiousness burrowed into my soul and took residence. Although,i had previously concluded in my heart that no matter what,i would not be dettered. I had waited four years and that was about all i could take. I'd traveled quite a way to be here.
The house was still as worn as ever, with moss now grown on the sides, the wood weak, but despite that a warm, nostalgic emotion filled me. I could recall the roughhousing greasers and memories of those lovable boys, who were now old enough to be men. I became so caught up in my thoughts that when i finally stepped to the elder door i didn't even realize that all this time there was a 'FOR SALE' sign printed on the front. I felt as if i couldn't read for a moment, and it hit me like a slap in the face.

My eyes widened as a mixture of shock and fear ran through me. No. After all this time, those Curtis brothers who always held up so well had lost their home? It couldn't be true. Thankfully there was a number to call listed beneath the sign and a glimmer of hope was to be found as i made my way downtown into a diner.

After popping a dime in the Telephone,I spun in the numbers as quick as i could, reading what i had wrote on my hand earlier for reference. In such a lowly diner,The stares of the trashy men-and some women-were almost tangible,i could nearly feel them. But i couldn't worry about that. Not now. Not when the someone so important to me could be living on the streets, though i knew that somehow those clever greasers would find some way to survive. They always did.

"'Ello...." Some snobby sounding buisness man picked up the phone with an annoying ting to his voice and a little rhyming catchphrase for whatever his buisness was. "Uhm..." I began, unsure if this guy could be of any help whatsoever to my current conflict. "Sorry to bother you,but do you know anything about the previous residents of this property?"

My palms were moist against the phone and my breaths became short as i could feel my pulse pushing against my skin. If this guy had no answers,i'd have to book it to all the greasers houses to find out exactly where the boys were. If that didn't work, and i didn't catch 'em in a rumble or anything in the streets,i'd have to go back to my parents and i was determined not to after what they'd done and how they treated me.
"Uh...That's private information."
Crap.
"Please!" I exclaimed, loud enough for the waitresses strolling on the checkered floor of the diner to give me a weird look. I aimed my cobalt speckled eyes down and lowered my voice as to not draw any more attention. "Please..." I lowered my voice. "I need to find those brothers. One of them is my..." I savored a breath, searching for something. "They're just really important to me."

I heard a sigh on the other side of the phone, and my hold on it became even tighter. I closed my eyes and wished with all of everything i had that i'd convinced him enough to let me know. "Please..." I pleaded for the final time.
Another sigh. "You know....You're lucky you sound as fine as wine on the other side,"

Thank god.

As i felt the rubble crumple beneath my shoes, I realized that i'd never imagined what would happen if i was actually in front of the greasers again. I was also pretty flabbergasted that they'd now attained such a nice house, one of those ones with a picket fence and in a nice neighborhood, but i always knew they'd get somewhere eventually.
I began to bunch up the end of my baby blue clothing in nervousness. I had really dressed my best,Although i knew no matter how good i looked,The Greasers wouldn't be so kind and accepting once they saw my face. I couldn't imagine what they thought of me now. And all because of some idiotic words i let slip out so that-
"Hi? Can i help you?" A feminine voice snapped me out of my lip biting trance and my cheeks colored as i straightened up. "I'm...uhm..." I struggled to get the words out, hoping i didn't get the wrong house or that this girl was....
"Yes?" She smiled gently at me,her lips painted a ruby red which complimented her Dark eyes and Similar colored hair. I wouldn't doubt it if they were already going together.
Stop. Thinking. I took a breath and forced a slight upturn of my mouth. "I'm uh...looking for the Curtis brothers,Darry,Ponyboy and-"

"Someone talking about my brothers?" He jogged up from behind her, Shirt in hand and a reckless grin gracing his features that i could easily recognize. But as soon as our eyes met, pupil to pupil,it instantly vanished without a trace and his body became still.

"Sandy?" His voice cracked.

Yeah. "It's me."
