"Didnt you wake up yet?!!!", that anxious loud cry made me realize that it is 8 in the morning. Usually, My sleep prolongs till 10 when I am off from my hectic schedule for MS.
Microsoft..that is where I belonged to...it has been a great roller coaster ride for me since Razmeen Ahmed was appointed as the Chief Operations Officer at New York, and that is fortunately or unfortunately me.
Coming back to the present, today wasnt a normal off day for me..I had to travel all the way from NY to Mumbai, not for a holiday, but to attend Nitin's Marriage.
Nitin, for me wasnt just a friend...not just a best friend..he is the only person who can cheer me up after HER..He often refers to me as "Brother from another mother" , and for both of us..our friendship and brohood was something more than that! We sacrified many of our favourites for each of us for our well being.....but somewhere down the lane, Was I supposed to sacrifice my LOVE for him? Was I supposed to leave HER for him? Was I supposed to leave him?
That loud cry that made me get ready in 15 minutes was none other than our next closest friend...Amar. We call him Humpty, just not because that he looked like one, but he was the cutie pie of our college!
"That college....the days that defined us...defined friendship..defined relations....defined LOVE....how can I justify myself for leaving that place? Did it really happen to be sacrificed for Nitin?", thoughts ran through my mind as usual when I remember about our college.
It was not alone his cry that made me get ready this quick, but it was that promise that I made to Nitin to be there at sharp 8:45 am. And now at 8:15, I was in the greatest dilemma to choose which tie to wear that suites the most for my specially hand crafted Red Velvet Suite, that i had planned to wear 8 months ago, for this same guy Nitin's marriage.....
Talking about ties, we people at microsoft have the biggest collection, I repeat, the biggest collection of ties as we have to attend hundreds of corporate meetings a week. And finally, after 10 minutes of intensive thinking, I decided to wear my favourite purple tie. 8:25..my watch showed.
I hurried, caught the cab that Nitin booked for me and asked the driver to rush to St. Cathredal's Church. Admist of all these traffic, that poor guy managed to reach there at 8:50 and i payed him 500 Rupees as a tip in gratitude.
I ran through those huge cemented steps...and there were hell lot many. I always wonder why these big churches always have huge number of steps to get there!
I took almost 5 minutes to enter the main entrance, to see all of them gathered together...where Amar was surprised to see me panting and breathing hard..
And then I sighted him..Nitin..He looked stunning in his violet suite and black ties as usual. He always was a stunning guy. And today, he looks so happy and refreshed, and I believe that he was as happy 8 months ago..where he was going to marry HER!
And here came, the Bride, maybe one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, red as a rose, with a typical shy look on her face and her arrival was accompanied by pretty women surrounding her all around.
"Didnt You shave?!", Amar asked me. "I didnt get time!", I replied. Amar never liked my Beard look. He always insists me to shave those, but I give him silly responses like "no time".."very busy" and all. But the actual reason was to make me look myself a real man! To look more masculine and moreover, She liked my beard look.
Right then, as I saw the bride walking with the soothing musical background...Nitin's smiling face, my brain..as usual..runs back and projects all the incidents that happened 7 years...I repeat,, 7 long years...........
