Riley's Pov
"As we sat on the bench, Lucas in the middle, Maya on the side, and me on the other side. Everything was pretty awkward but after a few moments, Lucas stared at me but than looked at Maya. I just can't believe Farkle would do this to me. And put me in this situation. I really thought that he wouldn't do this. But he did. And it angered me. But I guess it was for the best." I thought.
//The next day//
Maya's Pov
*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
"Ugh" I thought. "Now I gotta go to school. And face Riley.. Greaatt." I turn off my alarm clock and get out of bed. After I'm done brushing my teeth and all that, I put on leggings, these knee high boots and a plain black shirt with a dark blue jacket. "Bye mom and Shawn!" I say as I go out the door.
"Bye honey!" Katy says.
I got on the subway
"Wait.. I didn't even go by Riley's house to pick her up... Well, that isn't my fault. I'm mad at her. And Farkle. But mostly Farkle. I just can't believe Riley would keep such a big secret from me..." I saw Lucas sitting by himself and I went to sit next to him.
"Hey Lucas.."
"Oh.. Um hi maya.." He said. "Where's Riley? Don't you guys always come on the subway together?"
"All he cares about is stupid klutzy Riley. Riley always gets everything she wants."
"Maya?" He asks.
"Huh? Oh um I forgot to go pick her up.."
"Wait for real?!" He says.
"Ugh yes" I nod. "Does it matter?"
I get off the subway and Lucas follows.
"Yes.. It does.." He mumbles quietly.
"You can't just leave Riley like that. She was probably waiting for you."
"Can you leave me alone!?!" I thought "I don't care what you think so go get a life huckleberry!"
"Look, if I forgot, I forgot. Stop getting in my business huckleberry. I don't care what you think. You can just go running to your precious Riley! I don't care anymore!" I snapped.
Lucas steps back, shocked than mumbles something under his breath.
"I don't care. Just don't care Maya.. Your better than that."
I walk into the school. Confident as ever.
Lucas Pov
"The heck was that?! I was just trying to be nice but she got all mad. Ugh. I hate this. I feel bad for Riley though.. What!? Stop thinking about Riley!"
I go to my locker and get my stuff. I shut my locker and bump into someone.
"Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bump into yo- Lucas?" The person cut off.
"It's fine- Riley?"
"Um.. Y-yeah.... I'm sorry again.." She says.
"It's fine riles. Are you okay?"
"Um.. Yeah.. Why wouldn't I be?" She forced a smile.
"Riles... I-"
"Lucas, shut up! I don't need you feeling sorry for me! Please just leave me alone.." She says while crying.
"Riles! No!"
She runs off.
"Leave me alone!" She cries.
I run after her and grab her arm.
"Riles, it's my job to care about my friends. Especially you."
"L-Lucas.. Just please.." She stutters.
"No Riley! You keep pushing me away! Don't you ever think of asking me how I feel? Have you ever thought of that? You hurt me when you said that we were brother and sister in Texas! And when Farkle said that you still loved me.. I was relieved but hurt that you would've kept this in for this long. But I know what I got to do."
"L-Lucas... I-I-"
"Riley.. I love you too." I lean in and kiss her.
"My moment is my moment Riley."
