"I'M A REALIST, AND AN OPTIMIST, BUT I SWEAR TO YO-"
I palmed my phone hoping I snooze the alarm. I "rest" my eyes for what felt like a few seconds only to hear another State Champs song blare from my phone. (it was my 2nd alarm since I always fall asleep again). I sarcastically get out of bed and turn on the light. I grab whatever clothes I had prepared last night and took a shower while singing along to Losing Teeth and Candour, both by Neck Deep. I dry my hair for a few minutes since it has to be dry to put pomade in it. I put however much pomade on my index finger and rubbed my hands together, then through my hair. I comb it in any way that I can feel somewhat okay with my appearance. I grab my backpack as I recite the quadratic formula a few times. I eat the usual, oreos and milk. I go on twitter waiting for my dad and little sister to finish getting ready so he could drop me off at hell. (I mean school.)
The bell rings and I walk to science with my best friend, Lloyd. We've been best friends for about 5 years, although it feels like we're slowly drifting apart but I don't know if it's true.
I manage myself through that boring ass class and walk to art, which is okay I guess. Sometimes we actually learn something about art instead of listening to the obnoxious teacher. Blah blah, boring classes, boring life, (except for my english teacher, shoutout to him). It's 5th period and time for lunch. I wait for Lloyd who's usually in the boys' bathroom so we could find Selena, my other best friend in the lunch line to cut her.
(Selena was my ex-crush, and she knew, but she still wants to stay friends so then so do I. We've only been friends for about a year or a year and a half)
Yeah, more boring days of school and more boring details. But Lloyd and I somehow quickly faded awayas friends a month later after wherever the middle of my boring life is. And Selena and I grew closer, and at this period of time in my life, I could actually say I was happy.
Selena and I trusted each other more and more as we grew closer. Hell, sometimes during the rare low times of our life, we even start to rely on each other. We kept growing closer and closer, and the day came. Where she found a way to ignite the flame in my heart, again. I denied it from myself for pretty long, until we hung out. Alone. I could appreciate how adorable she is. Her smile, her laugh, just everything about her. We went to some cheap park and all we did was watch her attempt to do ollies on her skateboard. I enjoyed every moment, listening to every playful laugh at every mistake she had. I went home ignoring how cold it was, focusing on the thought of her. Goddamn, she is so cute. I came in my room burying smiles in my pillow for the next half hour.
Next thing I know, State Champs is blaring again, then another. Another boring day, except the fact I kept catching myself staring at her every other minute in each class I had with her.
We grew so much closer and we progressed so much as friends. I was so happy, because I believed I had a chance.
The next night seemed to be normal, staying up texting each other. Sometimes we get emotional, and this night, we did. But this one was different.
