Darkness Is Your Enemy

Prolouge

    Planes,bombs, fires, pollution, is all anyone could see anymore, there was no light,no sun, no flowers or grass or even trees. Society has to manufacture oxygen.Everyone wears face masks and hardly anyone walks around anymore, we all just sit at home praying that soon everything will just stop! "Charlie..... Charlie.....Charlie!!" Mums screams "Get up!" I groan "why its not like we've got anything to do." Mum sighs "you got to look after your sister. Your father and I have been asked to go to the square." I sit up immediately eyes wide "why?" I questioned "I'm not sure all I know is that all the adults have been asked to come if not they will find us and hunt us down!" "Oh....Ok!" I said. I got up showered, then went out into the kitchen, kissed mum and dad on the cheek"goodbye" I said nervously "we'll be fine Charlie, go... go and get your sisters up. Ok." The door shut behind them and they were gone. Trying to stay positive I started to make breakfast. Alexa walked into the kitchen "Charlie. Where's mum and dad?"Alexa spoke quietly and tentatively "they've just gone to the square they'll be back in a little while. Anyway what would you like for breakfast?" "Toast" Alexa replied. I put the toast in the toaster, got the butter and jam out and put it on the bench. 

5 hours had past since they had left for the square. "That's it!" I said standing up. "i'm going to look for mum and dad. Alexa look after Kylie and i'll be back in a little while." I walked over got my gun and my oxygen mask and before they could stop me I was out the door. Running was a strength of mine, so running through the little alleyways was the easy part. the alleyways led to more alleyways to then a massive open space in the shape of a square. I knew that was it, I saw mum and dad walking from the square. "Mum! Dad!" re leaved  to see them alive I ran up to them. But something was wrong. there eyes were red and they had cuts and bruises everywhere! "Mum...." I looked up at her nervously. I knew what was wrong, i knew what to do but I couldn't.  "Mum.... dad!!" I screamed. "Answer me!" I was on my hands and knees screaming at them. It was too late. I had to kill them, it was the only way.  I looked at them one final time. Reached for my gun in my pocket and that was it that was the end...... the end of everything.
